Well the upgrade bit is working at least, I took the plunge and I upgraded my ARCC because I had been thinking about it for a while given my plans for next year – that, and if the whole thing was a mistake, I wanted to jump on it before they fixed it 😀
On selecting the “upgrade” button, it did it in a flash, there was no “we’re thinking about it” – new card image within half an hour and everything, HN and £150 UK/OS credit already applied. Not sure if the points will apply – the lady in chat seemed to think so – not hopeful, but I will make the spend and see if it does trigger the upgrade bonus MR. I’m pleased because it avoided the hassle of a brand new application.
Don’t forget the terms of the offer state the bonus points are only payable when upgrading from the Gold Card. There’s no mention of any other card being eligible for bonus points upon upgrading.
Ah right. So it could be a ploy to move people from the free card to platinum

No progress bar but their IT system when it comes to progress bar is always flakey. It comes and goes. Just put a complaint with them if they dont offer the upgrade. It was eligible after all and at the same time you held a gold credit
Don’t forget the terms of the offer state that the bonus points are only eligible for upgrading a Gold card. There’s no mention of any other card type.
If anyone hits the target in the next few days we can find out. I need to use billhop so it will take a few days

I qualified for the bonus on BAPP despite closing my previous BAPP just over one year ago and the bar miraculously appeared when I got the card, subsequently got the bonus.
In cases where I thought I would get a bonus because of luck (like in this case of this ARCC upgrade route perhaps), the bar never appeared and no bonuses posted when spends were met.
Upgraded now. Card reflected in account immediately.

Yes if the bar shows you are 95% likely to get the points but it not showing indicates nothing as it doesn’t show for a number of people who are eligible for a bonus.

The card didnt change numbers for me and I was able to use the Apple pay immediately.

That’s correct. But the dining offer is still not visible on the app. Still shows offers that were available on gold card. And those I had saved before upgrade.
You might want to call Amex and ask if you can spend on dining and get the credit before receiving the physical card.Also to add, I don’t have ARCC. I cancelled it 2 months back. So the upgrade works as intended if you don’t have ARCC and just the gold card.

Yes the card details stay the same, they just change the account type. Emails received confirm this as well.

No dining credit offer on my account — i might want to call/contact CSApple pay automatically synced as platinum when I added the card to wallet via amex app

Yep I speaking from my own experiences, so in my case I received a bonus before the 24m rule and tracker shoed. Not exactly sure why you’d contact CS to check and potentially flag the mistaker to them, the bonus may well have posted if you met the spending criteria…not the smartest move imho

This was relating to the ARCC when I joined it said spend £3k in 3 months to get 10k, your right in hindsight I should have given it ago but I was helping P2 hit their target which was the Gold credit anniversary after 15k spend, would have gone to waste otherwise.. wasn’t aware of any tips at that time to get over the line however they would have involved closing the account and possible clawback of MR

@Harrods I didnt contact CS this time round, it was before when I had the ARCC and I wasnt able to hit the £2k target in 3 months as I was helping P2 reach their target. However I guess your right there are other ways to hit the target quicker but may involve fully closing down else a potential clawback of MR
So has this upgrade been enabled for all gold credit card holders, or still “targeted” users only?
