Having arrived at LHR in good time yesterday, I checked the app to see that my 2-4-1 booking to MLE had been upgraded. Three hours in the Concorde Room (my first time), followed by superb food, comfort and service has made for a wonderful start to my holiday. Thank you BA.

    A pleasant surprise !

Just a shame that a recent article suggests that BA aren’t looking after their best lounge as well as they did so if you’d have gone say a number of years ago or so, the general way the airline is being run these days !

I thought it was fantastic and was not minded to feel at all negative about the experience whatsoever.

I was in there recently and it’s fine (fantastic for free!). Glug down the LPGS before they replace it!

Nice! Out of interest, what status (if any) do you have with BA?

BA should thank you for accepting the upgrade, so they could probably sell another Upper Class seat for a hefty cash fare :p

As this upgrade happend on the day it’s unlikely BA sold any seat (let alone one in Upper Class on Virgin!) but was due to a lower cabin (likely PE) being oversold so passengers were rolled forward to accommodate that.

If @pbcold hadn’t been upgraded then someone else in club would have been upgraded to F.
