Side question, how long has it taken for the premier account anniversary voucher to appear in your BAEC? Does it appear at the next billing cycle?
Many Thanks.
I opened my account on the 1st of October and both years it has been issued, and dated 9th October.
Thanks frogee, I hope mines does pop up sometime, its been a week since the anniversary and the vouchers not yet been added to my account yet.
The two year expiry / 1 August 2025 should hopefully be resolved soon for folk. Barclays called me to say they and BA are aware of the issue and are going through peoples vouchers to fix the problem. Hopefully they don’t simultaneously mess other stuff up.

Thanks for the updates on this. Hopefully they will fix the dates for everyone without us having to contact. You should ask for some compensation for the time you’ve had to spend chasing this.

+1 thanks to those who chased. Got one today with 1 Aug 25 expiry, so will just wait and see.
Thanks all. I have also been impacted by this. Issued 6th October 2023, expiry 1st August 2025. I guess for now I’ll wait too.
A quick update from my last two weeks correspondence with Barclays and BA. I firstly started with Barclays who asked me to wait. A week later I chased Barclays who asked me to contact BA. Called BA who refused to help and asked to speak to Barclays. Contacted Barclays again today who asked me to speak to BA.
Clearly had enough about such wonderful incompetence experienced, especially more than a year ago when the product was marketed heavily including the forum here.
Didn’t experience similar expiry wrong date issue from AMEX, hence Barclays failed from duty of care and took the suppliers risk which ultimately impacted customers.
I don’t really understand this thread. Why is anyone daft enough to be fobbed off by Barclays to get in touch with BA? It seems reasonably self-evident that you need to stick to dealing with the company you have contracted with. If you buy a Bosch hoover from John Lewis, would you let them insist you go to Bosch if it develops a problem?
Additionally, most people should know that financial services companies are obliged to have a structured process for complaints such as this, whereas BA has none. Simply escalate at Barclays and save an awful lot of time.
This is seemingly a widespread issue that will ultimately get fixed, but calling BA will not progress any individual or wider issue one iota.
What’s funny about this problem is that people are (rightly) asking to have their voucher amended when all the clever clog ‘players’ are adamant that Barclays/Amex/BA can’t do anything to your Amex/Barclays voucher once it’s in your BAEC account when of course that is complete nonsense. It can be removed and replaced with a new expiry (or simply removed) as can be observed with a changed voucher number or have its expiry adjusted to a later date or to an earlier one so as to expire it immediately.
My voucher has now been updated to the correct expiry date of 05/10/2025, instead of 01/08/2025.
As I have already done all my holiday bookings for 2024, and not wanting to use the voucher for short haul, I decided to make a complaint to Barclays, as I may need to use the voucher as late as summer 2025.
I first called Barclays, who tried to pass the buck to BA. I didn’t want to get bounced around, so I sent an email to the Barclays CEO on 12th Dec. Got an email from the executive team the next day, saying they are looking into it. Had no further contact, but checked my account today, and the voucher expiry date has been fixed.
Worth checking yours to see if its updated, or send a complaint email. Don’t let them fob you off saying only BA can deal with it, because I didn’t even call BA.
I got bored waiting for this to magically self-resolve so put in a complaint. Very simple on chat. Although the first time they didn’t log it as I said I had not, and would not be calling BA as their expert suggested. Second attempt it was logged successfully. (If I was more vexatious I could also complain about their refusing to log my complaint!)
This was quickly followed up by a call from a nice lady who said she was on it but expected she would need to escalate it. She called me back a couple of days later to say she did indeed need to escalate. A few days on, I had a call today from a different nice lady who said it’s a known issue and they have added my name to the spreadsheet of people who need theirs to be amended.
No time frame offered and I didn’t bother asking why my name wasn’t already on the spreadsheet if it is a known issue. All a bit clumsy really.
Not contacted BA re expiry. It has now self-resolved for me, and thanks to those who contacted BA as probably helped.
You’re very welcome. I just checked and my one has also resolved although I haven’t heard back from Barclays!
Great news, out of curiosity @Froggee was it out of principle or you needed the extension?
There is a reasonable chance I will need the full 24 months.
The last one was used to book my mum to the States. She went in September as it is a nice time to go to Ohio where her pal is. She won’t be going this year as is off to Bali.
Therefore October expiry is much more useful than August!
I did give it the best part of four months to self resolve.
@Froggee, your mum rocks! My own mum isn’t at all keen on “abroad”, even though she was a teacher of French and Spanish and was married to a Spaniard at one time 😂. When she retired and no longer had to go on school trips she let her passport expire and now goes no further afield than Wales!
