Is there a conclusive list of the Skyteam Elite benefits from partner airlines when flying Virgin Atlantic? The website is quite confusing or lacks some information.
I took advantage of the Vietnam status match and have a Virgin Atlantic UC&PE booking.
Interested to know what benefits I will get and whether P2 will get any of those benefits.
1 extra checked bag seems to be a definitive one, but unclear if this covers others in the booking (it does with RJ Oneworld on AA, for example, where P1 and P2 both get a free checked bag, priority boarding, better seats on Basic Economy).
Is there a way to leverage the Skyteam Elite benefits but still credit points to Virgin Flying Club? Like with BA whereby the RJ Oneworld is used to book seats and gain priority boarding, but then they can change the FF back to BAEC to earn points. Would just showing the Skyteam Elite card at the checkin desk be enough to allow the extra bag(s) for free?
Choose your programme, tier and operating carrier at https://www.skyteam.com/en/frequent-flyers/ to see how STE/STEP apply to your carrier. To your last paragraph, VS Silver is STE, VS Gold is STEP – you don’t need to do the OW card dance with VS.

That’s a great website, thanks. Looks like VS is a little light on some of the STE benefits, but oh well.
It reads as if the benefits only apply to the STE person, not the additional travellers on the same booking.
Not having to do the OW card dance, how does that work? As there’s nothing currently in my VS booking that shows I am STE and therefore get extra baggage. Equally, if I fly with DL, there’d be nothing on the booking to show I can get an extra bag and free priority seats.
