Forums Payment cards Barclaycard Avios Who has received the 100,000 Avios?

They said in the chat app that I would be eligible so I noted it down. Expect a rollercoaster in the next few months and heaps of CS agents to be hired on a specialist team to sort complaints in

It all sounds very similar to the issues lots of people (me included) had when first applying for the avios card. Cards arriving open and damaged, avios not posting, CS claiming to have no knowledge of such a card, and so on! I would think long and hard before applying for another product with them.

So it sounds like no one has received their 100k points yet (as we’re too early). And we dont really know how quickly they’ll bank once we hit the 4month mark right? (im going to need to book an avios flight and need these points available on my partners account so i can book for her…so hopefully they bank quickly!)

“With your Barclaycard Avios Plus credit card and Barclays Avios Rewards, you have everything you need to collect your 100,000 Avios bonus.

To qualify for it, simply keep them open until at least 03 February 2023.

We’ll then get in touch to let you know you’ve qualified for the Avios bonus and that it’s been paid into your British Airways Executive Club account (the 100,000 Avios bonus won’t show in your Barclays app1.) T&Cs apply.

Don’t forget, the 100,000 Avios bonus is on top of the standard joining and welcome bonuses you may be eligible for.”

for those that didnt get the email. I am now waiting with anticipation 😀

to work the date for the step prior, when would you had received this email? i.e. how many days after holding both products? (avios plus cc + premier acc)

Best to keep both items open, check after another two months and utilise the extra CS staff they are planning to employ to cover this 100k offer

You can do it over live chat – they acknowledged it and made changes within few days
    Also confirmed the 100k eligibility

I had profiles merged on a phone call. The call landed with a UK-based person, and it took her quite a long time to arrange, and a couple of days to take effect, but it can be done.

annoyingly I have different titles on the profiles so they said couldn’t merge them on chat.

They will do so if you go to a branch in person. I had a problem with titles as the Barclaycard application has limited options for title vs the Barclays Premier which has a proper range. The result is strange in that they sent a new debit card that uses all the spaces but doesn’t show any of my surname.

Good lucking trying to get an appointment in branch especially if you need a KYC trained person. Just went today, appointments are currently scheduled till end of March in my local branch. Apparently it is all Martin Lewis’ fault, advertising their 1 year fix ISA and now everyone wants to open one!

Live chat were completely hopeless with me, just endless hours of confusion and conflicting info. The social media team based in UK, particularly twitter are great. I had to go into the branch to sort out my duplicate profiles, now confirmed eligible for the 100k

    Hi.
I’ve read the above posts and the main articles on this, but still not sure I know the answer to this…
I am new to barclays, signed up for the barclaycard and barclays premier, all seemed to go ok.
Do I need to switch my bank account and/or pay salary into the barclays premier to get the £100,000 bonus?
    Thanks

I’m afraid the promotion is only 100k Avios, not £100k. You don’t need to do a switch, but if you do that within three months of opening the account you get an extra 25k Avios. You do need to have switched on Avios Rewards on your Premier Account during the promotion period for the 100k Avios.

I passed the 4 month qualifying threshold 5 days ago. No sign of the bonus yet, no new communication from Barclays. I definitely qualify, had the email confirming that back in November.

The terms state the points will be credited up to two months after the end of the qualifying period.

My wife and I jumped through the various hoops for this in late November. Mine went surprisingly smoothly. My wife’s was more of a pain, but she applied for both accounts and turned on Avios Rewards in November.

I received the 100,000 email. My wife did not. She had to reinstall the app a number of times because things like her credit card wasn’t working etc. Reading this thread: seems that I should interpret as meaning Barclays have Barclaysed it up and she is likely NOT on their systems as being eligible and so she should raise a formal complaint now?

Having left it this long after the end of the promotional period, I wouldn’t bother raising a complaint now. If she has scrupulously followed the terms – ie opened both products or the one not held within the promotion period and if the second product was the Premier account, switched on Avios Rewards in that same period, all should be OK. See terms:-

If your wife can see in the Barclays app her Premier account and the Barclaycard that’s positive (ie they have linked the profiles).

yeah she could see them in her app together but it was well into december before that happened. They did both appear in the app in Nov but she was advised to uninstall it and reinstall it because tehre were issues with using her credit card.

The reason I wouldn’t make a complaint now, two and a half months after the end of the promotional period is that your wife will either get the points automatically or she won’t. If you make a complaint now, it will likely take eight weeks for them to say she’s eligible or not, but not actually deliver the points which might necessitate a further complaint. They have said they will have a team to deal with issues relating to the promotion, so personally I would hold fire.

I am suppose to get in on 22 March and I did receive the 100k email confirming it…
