How to earn Marriott Bonvoy points from UK credit cards

There are many ways of earning Marriott Bonvoy points from UK credit cards.

Not only can you earn points with every £1 you spend, but many cards come with generous sign-up bonuses to help your points build up.

This article is updated on a regular basis.  You should assume that all of the information is correct but please double-check before making any applications.

All of these cards add a 3% foreign exchange fee so you might want to get a separate free credit card to use abroad.   Unfortunately there are no travel rewards card without a foreign exchange fee.  One option is to get a free Curve Card – see this HFP article – and link it to a miles-earning Visa or Mastercard.

Earn Marriott Bonvoy points from Amex Gold

Earning Marriott Bonvoy points from small business cards:

If you want to earn Marriott Bonvoy points from a small business card, your options are the American Express Platinum Business card and the American Express Gold Business card.

There is currently a 20,000 Membership Rewards points (= 30,000 Marriott Bonvoy points) bonus on the Gold Business card and a 40,000 Membership Rewards points (= 60,000 Marriott Bonvoy points) bonus on the Platinum Business card.

The Platinum Business card offers different benefits to the standard Platinum card.  The travel insurance is better, as the age limit is increased to 80 and there is no requirement to pay for your flight or hotel with an Amex card.

The American Express sign-up bonuses are only available to customers who have not held a personal or business Green, Gold or Platinum American Express card, or an American Express Rewards credit card, in the previous six months.
