Hilton HHonors has teamed up with Lufthansa to offer bonus Miles & More miles during April, May and June.

At present, you have two options when you stay with Hilton:

Choose ‘points and points’ earning, which gets you 10 Hilton base points per $1 plus a bonus of 5 points per $1

or

Choose ‘points and miles’ earning, which gets you 10 Hilton base points per $1 plus (for Miles & More) 1 mile per $1

During this promotion, you will receive double Miles & More miles on your 2nd stay, triple miles on your 3rd stay and quadruple miles on your 4th and subsequent stays.

Whether this makes sense for you depends on your valuation of both Hilton points and Miles & More miles.  I tend to value Hilton points at 0.3p these days.  This means, under normal circumstances, ‘points and points’ makes more sense than ‘points and miles’.

However, at double, triple or quadruple miles, the miles would be more valuable – assuming you have a use for them.

You need to register for the promotion here and, of course, change your Hilton account over to so that you are collecting ‘points and miles’ with Miles & More set as your default airline partner.

It is valid for stays from April 1st to June 30th.

There was a similar offer last year. I made three qualifying stays. Hilton then retrospectively removed the hotel I stayed at from the list of participating properties. I followed this up with HHonors customers services for several months, but still ended up with zero miles. I don’t stay at Hilton properties anymore.

  • David says:

Can anyone confirm if the miles can only be transferred into Lufthansa miles, or can they be transferred to any of the airlines HH partner with?
