Don’t forget that ALL redspottedhanky loyalty points expire on 31 December

Head for Points has promoted quite a few redspottedhanky.com promotions this year, all of which gave you free loyalty points that could be redeemed for money off your next train trip.  This included Fantasy Golf and Fantasy Formula 1.

What you must remember – and what caught out some HfP readers last year – is that RSH loyalty points expire at the end of every year.

This is what the rules say:

All points and e-vouchers created from loyalty points will be valid for one calendar year from 1st January – 31st December. If you do not collect and redeem your points or e-vouchers by the end of the calendar year they will not be carried forward to the following calendar year.

The good news is that you can redeem ANY amount of redspottedhanky points for e-vouchers towards train travel.  There is no minimum and no maximum.  Last year I had 1291 points in early December and it got me a £12.91 e-voucher.

The voucher will arrive in your RSH account within 24 hours and will have an expiry date of 2020 based on previous experience.  Ignore what the rules say about e-vouchers expiring quickly – they don’t.

There is still the final round of points from the Fantasy Formula 1 competition due.  I imagine that, like last year, these will be delayed until January in order to stop them expiring almost immediately.

I haven’t seen that offer as being available for ages. Certainly not available in my account now.

  • Oliver Bennett says:

Done. Turned into a 36 quid train voucher. Thanks a lot for the reminder. Once again this site is v useful

  • paul says:

Thank you. I had just 1467 points but without this prompt would have lost them all.

  • Adam says:

Where in your fantasy golf account page are the points earned and how do your transfer or redeem them in your normal rsh account?
My partners were auto transferred over and have an expiry date of 2020?

    • Tim says:

I have the same question with F1. I may be being dumb but I can’t see any loyalty points anywhere on the fantasy F1 RSH page.

      • squills says:

They’re not on the fantasy F1 RSH page.

They’re in your RSH a/c – go to LOYALTY 😉

        • Tim says:

OK, looks like I’ve screwed up.

I did not set up a RSH account. I joined directly on the RSH F1 page. This is not the same thing. My RSH F1 account details give an error on the RSH page. Setting up a RSH with the same details and my point balance is zero.

          • Rob says:

In theory if you did that they opened an account for you and transferred over the points, don’t they?

          • Tariq says:

My wife has the same problem, clicked directly to the RSH Fantasy F1 site and signed up there but didn’t have a RSH account set up… Wonder if we can get it set up and added retrospectively.. is it even worth it?

  • Adam says:

So they auto get put into your account, how come my points have been tranferred into evouchers and have an expiry of 2020 and this topic was about that the points earned from these comps expire at the end of this year?

  • Aoife says:

    Thanks for the reminder!

  • Adam says:

Sorry, i had to keep logging in twice to get into my loyalty section with the points displayed, i have redeemed them for rail vouchers, how long does it take for the email to come through with the codes?

Also, i have two rsh accounts, can i copy the code from one account and apply that into my other account in the evoucher section?
    Thx

    • JQ says:

The codes will be in your account the next day, don’t care about the email. 2 RSH accounts means 2 separate sets of vouchers. Remember that RSH has a £1 booking fee but unlimited tickets per booking I believe

  • Think Square says:

Thanks. That’s £31.70 from the RSH Fantasy F1. The HHonors Fantasy F1 seems to have been a waste of time though. Did anyone get anything?

    • Rob says:

The Hilton game was ‘winner takes all’, pretty much – I randomly selected a team in a few seconds and then left it on the off chance I got lucky!
