Did you delete a 2,000 or 10,000 points Christmas gift from Club Carlson?!

Did you receive an email from Club Carlson, the Radisson / Park Inn / Park Plaza loyalty scheme, on Thursday?  The headline was ‘Especially for you’.

Did you open it and read it?

If not, you have lost out on 2,000 or 10,000 Club Carlson points!

It seems that Club Carlson is giving away a Christmas gift to anyone whose Club Carlson account has seen any activity in 2014.  I received a 10,000 point gift and I have only done one stay this year – and that was a redemption!  Given that I value Club Carlson points at 0.5p, that is a £50 Christmas present.

Your gift is NOT automatic.  You need to click on the link in the email in order to claim your present.  Note that, for some odd reason, Club Carlson will not be adding the points to your account until March.

If you think you may have deleted the email by mistake, don’t worry!  Type this into your browser  http://www.clubcarlsonfestivethankyou.com/en/default.aspx?id=XXXXXXXXXXXXX whilst replacing the string of XXX’s with your full Club Carlson number.

I tried it on a few family accounts where there has been zero activity in 2014 and none of them qualified, but if you have managed even one stay (cash or points) I would certainly check to see if you are due anything.

      • 2000 for me. Lots of stays at their hotels but rarely booked through club Carlson. Very happy, they continue to be the best hotel loyalty chain for me (even if the hotels are generally nothing to get excited about)

  9. concierge status, several years running, and over 40 stays this year, not a single festive thank you point for me. didn’t get the email either.

  10. Has anyone who clicked to accept this Christmas gift actually had the points post to their account?

    Any links for the Melia points? I didn’t get an email on that one.

    • As Rob mentioned (and I missed myself!) they’re not due to post until March.

      I didn’t see the Melia points mentioned in their last email, but didn’t read it too closely – they’re showing up in my account though.

  12. Gold via Amex Platinum offer (though actually have the BA Premium Plus as figured the system would not differentiate). That said they’ve done well out of me as a result, 15 stays since May and a further 5 early next year. That said will revert to silver next year. Got 10k.

    Also seem to be getting the double points offer on bookings that I made before the offer came out. 5,200 for a £76 room not a bad return really.

    Also got 38k compensation for a relatively trivial complaint recently.

  14. No email and no points for me (get error page) – bit miffed as 40+nights logged this year so far!

    The earning/burning in this scheme is decent enough; I’ll be dropping off Concierge this year anyway – not sure I get a huge amount of benefit from giving them 30+ stays a year of loyalty.

    • Uhm enough points for staying a couple of weeks in one of their hotels or a couple of days in their luxe hotels does not count as a benefit???

      • As I said, it’s fine for points earning/burning, sure.

        But you get a bit tired of the ‘breakfast isn’t included in your room rate sir’ ‘oh, i have club carlson concierge’ ‘oh then you may have a continental breakfast’ conversation every morning, and the free gift/room upgrades are pretty rare.

        I generally take the bacon anyway. 😉
