Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Did you delete a 2,000 or 10,000 points Christmas gift from Club Carlson?

Did you receive an email from Club Carlson, the Radisson / Park Inn / Park Plaza loyalty scheme, on Thursday?  The headline was ‘Especially for you’.

Did you open it and read it?

If not, you have lost out on 2,000 or 10,000 Club Carlson points!

Club Carlson 2000

It seems that Club Carlson is giving away a Christmas gift to anyone whose Club Carlson account has seen any activity in 2014.  I received a 10,000 point gift and I have only done one stay this year – and that was a redemption.  Given that I value Club Carlson points at 0.5p, that is a £50 Christmas present.

Your gift is NOT automatic.  You need to click on the link in the email in order to claim your present.  Note that, for some odd reason, Club Carlson will not be adding the points to your account until March.

If you think you may have deleted the email by mistake, don’t worry.  Type this into your browser whilst replacing the string of XXX’s with your full Club Carlson number.

I tried it on a few family accounts where there has been zero activity in 2014 and none of them qualified, but if you have managed even one stay (cash or points) I would certainly check to see if you are due anything.

How to earn Radisson Rewards points and status from UK credit cards

How to earn Radisson Rewards points and status from UK credit cards (August 2022)

Radisson Rewards does not have a dedicated UK credit card. However, you can earn Radisson Rewards points by converting Membership Rewards points earned from selected UK American Express cards.

These cards earn Membership Rewards points:

EDIT: Until 25th October 2022, there is an exceptionally generous sign-up bonus on The Platinum Card. You will receive 60,000 Membership Rewards points – double the usual amount – and £200 to spend at Amex Travel. You need to spend £6,000 within six months to earn the bonus.

Membership Rewards points convert at 1:3 into Radisson Rewards points which is a very attractive rate.  The cards above all earn 1 Membership Rewards point per £1 spent on your card, which converts to 3 Radisson Rewards points.

Even better, holders of The Platinum Card receive free Radisson Rewards Gold status for as long as they hold the card.  It also comes with Hilton Honors Gold, Marriott Bonvoy Gold and MeliaRewards Gold status.  We reviewed American Express Platinum in detail here.

10,000pts for my wife, thanks for letting us know about this 🙂

My account got zero and the error page, which was expected as our stays to year have been on my wife’s account.

Have done about a dozen room nights in the last 12 months and I got 10k.

This, combined with a random e-mail for a EUR50 gift card from Radisson a couple of months ago really does make them look like a generous outfit – at least for me as a relatively infrequent guest.

  • Jimmyjimmy says:

10k for me with 2 stays over the year.
Also received a Miles & More 3k freebie yesterday.

    • czechoslovakia says:

Note the very (ahem) generous 3k M&M bonus are only STATUS miles, not actually award miles. They`ll expire at the end of the year!

  • Dominic says:

Also got 10,000 points, which was a very nice surprise! (Was expecting something like “stay nine nights, get tenth at half price…”

  • Fran says:

Thanks Raffles. I did indeed delete the email but got 10,000 points. Dont even remember doing a stay this year!! Bonus!

  • Andrew S says:

    Yes 10k here… very happy

  • Geoggy says:

No stays, no email, gold via Amex Plat and just get error message when editing link

    • Daleroxxu says:

      exact same for me

2000 for me. Lots of stays at their hotels but rarely booked through club Carlson. Very happy, they continue to be the best hotel loyalty chain for me (even if the hotels are generally nothing to get excited about)

  • Rich says:

4 different stays in Blu hotels this year, and delighted with the 10k miles.
I was wondering when they were going to post, so thanks!
