Thank you to everyone who entered our competition last week, sponsored by hotel booking site Kaligo.com, to win 100,000 Avios points.  There was a fantastic response.

I picked a winner yesterday and the name has been verified with Kaligo.com.  I haven’t told this person yet, though – they will receive an email from me later today!

The winner is …..

(drum roll)

Kaligo 2

Peter K, who used a Yahoo email address

Well done Peter!  I will be in touch today for your British Airways Executive Club account details.

Commiserations to everyone else.  However, subject to final approvals, we have another fantastic competition launching next week supported by Qatar Airwaysmore details here.

Remember that you still have 18 days to book a hotel with Kaligo.com and qualify for 3,000 bonus Avios points on your first booking – 10,000 Avios points if the booking is over £1,000.   You book for a date later in 2015 but the booking itself needs to be made by January 31st.  You can sign up with Kaligo.com here.

Just checked Kaligo for Gatwick airport hotels for this Friday – they’re 20-30% more expensive than when booked through expedia/hotels.com/hilton website. Really want to give these guys a chance but can’t. Funny how the top of the page says “BEST PRICES – Book with confidence! We compare our rates real-time to major travel sites and show you the best price deals.” This is clearly not the case.

    Same for me !
Wanted to book an Accor Branch Hotel in Luxembourg as I go there every week.
But yes, it’s 30% more expensive than on Accorhotel.com.
