Hilton launches a flash sale for weekend stays

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

Hilton has launched a seven day ‘flash sale’ which runs until midnight on Sunday.

It is offering special deals at 250 hotels across Europe (including the UK), Middle East and Africa, but only at weekends.  Many rooms are discounted by 33%.

The rates are valid for stays until July 17th.

As usual with Hilton sales, you need to take the ‘33% discount’ with a pinch of salt.  This is based on the discount from ‘Best Available Rate’ for the same day.  However, these sale rates require pre-payment and are non-refundable.  A ‘Best Available Rate’ room is cancellable without charge.

There are some decent deals there.  I picked a couple at random:

Waldorf-Astoria Rome Cavalieri, 22-24 May (photo above)

€301 Flash Sale vs €400 Advanced Purchase vs €450 Best Available – you save €100 per night via this sale

The Trafalgar, London, 22-24 May

£153 Flash Sale vs £229 Best Available (no Advanced Purchase option shown)

Hilton Dubai Jumeirah Beach, 22-24 May

Dh 825 Flash Sale vs Dh 935 Best Available vs Dh 1,100 Best Available – you save Dh 110 per night via this sale

If you have any weekends away planned between now and mid July, you might want to take a look at these offers to see if there is anything of interest.  The ‘flash sale’ website is here.

I wonder if this would qualify for the Amex spend 250 get 50 credit !!!

  • Think Square says:

As usual with Hilton sales, their definition of “weekend” is very generous. All days ending in “y” seem to be included.

Tuesday 31st March, Brighton Metropole – £50. That’ll do for me..

    • Chris says:

Yes, at the other end of the UK Hilton Coylumbridge up in Aviemore is showing as DBB for £59 for a double room.

Also all days of the week ending in a Y.

  • Nick says:

I never understand Hilton and their various promotions with regards to the dates permitted. Properties are nearly always available outside of the stated dates. As an example, I always wait for these sales to book ahead for a weekend in London in December for Christmas shopping and visiting friends when I’m back in the UK. There is good availability in this Flash Sale for weekends this December at the various London properties.

Rob, you’ve stayed at the Hilton Munich City before. If I book the flash sale room only as a Gold card holder, and have my ‘my way’ preferences correctly set, I should get breakfast thrown in shouldn’t I? I know its for 2 guests only, but I can’t imagine them quibbling about also providing it for my 4 year old too.

    • Alan says:

Yep, you’ll have no issue with this. Good spread in their restaurant too – http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=1243361 is an excellent resource if wondering what the setup is at any particular Hilton property 🙂

    • Rob says:

Definitely, it is treated as a normal stay. I got brekky and I was on a hotels.com booking …. You won’t have a problem with the child either in my experience. We have never been charged, anywhere, for our kids in a hotel where the adults ate free.

      • trickster says:

        Cheers both!

Have a flexible booking there for 2 nights in April which we are now firm on, so I’m going to change it the flash sale rate, which I am pleased to see come up for a Sun/Mon booking.

  • @mkcol says:

Don’t forget the (UK) Public Sector discount code PR11PN which often gets a bigger discount. I’ve just price-checked the Hilton Canary Wharf booked a couple of days ago for this Friday night & still cheaper, plus it automatically includes breakfast.

    • VP says:

Did a random check and the code does seem to give a bigger discount !! I presume you require a public sector ID at check in?

      • Rob says:

You should be prepared to show some … although chance of being asked is relatively low.

  • CC says:

Managed to get Paris Opera for 2 nights, one in flash sale and the other night using the free HH voucher from the credit card.

    Thank you!

  • Rob says:

I got 8p for a Virgin flight once, because they strip out all the taxes and charges to leave a minimal ‘base price’.

  • Kai says:

My booking during the last sale tracked at the lower rate too. I wonder if anyone has got the rate tracked correctly at all?
