News in brief:
Singapore Airlines launches ‘50% off’ sale on economy redemptions
Singapore Airlines is currently offering selected routes – including London – at a 50% discount for redemptions.
The bad news is that only economy seats are included! You can only get this price on one of the four daily flights out of London – the 11am A380 departure. This means you will be sitting in the A380 economy cabin below which I photographed last week.
You can ONLY book these seats using Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer miles, not partner miles. However, the good news is that KrisFlyer is an American Express Membership Rewards partner at 1:1. This means that you can redeem a one-way flight to or from Singapore for just 17,500 miles!
This price excludes fuel surcharges which, on Singapore Airlines, are quite heavy. I paid £455 per person for the business class redemptions we are flying this weekend so I imagine economy will be a touch over £300 return.
You must fly by 10th July which doesn’t give you long. Plenty of other routes are included as well – Singapore to Bali is just 3,750 miles each way for example.
The only other European route included is Zurich. The Manchester service, via Munich, is not there.
You can find out more on the Singapore Airlines website here.
£15 Uber sign-up bonus extended
If you haven’t tried out the cab app Uber yet, now is an excellent opportunity. The ‘first ride’ bonus you get when you sign up is now £15. This will be a permanent offer for readers of Head for Points.
The credit is valid for three months so it is worth signing up even if you won’t be in an Uber city for a few weeks.
The £15 is valid against your first ride. Unused credit is lost so it is best to make your first ride a longer one – or take an UberLUX and arrive in a Mercedes S-Class!
Uber is currently available in London, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Wakefield and Newcastle. It is also operates outside the UK but the £15 credit is only valid for a ride in the UK.
To claim your £15 credit, simply download the Uber app for your smartphone and enter the code HEADFORPOINTS on the payment page.
£30 HotelTonight sign-up credit for new users
Finally, if you are looking for a UK hotel for the Bank Holiday weekend, don’t forget that Head for Points readers receive an exclusive £30 credit when they sign up to short-notice hotel booking app HotelTonight.
The minimum spend is just £84 (£70 + VAT) which means a saving of 35% if you find something at exactly £84.
