News in brief:

No more 5% uplift on TopCashback transfers to Tesco Clubcard

An easy way of accumulating Avios points cheaply is to transfer cashback earned from shopping site TopCashback into Tesco Clubcard points.

You can move £50 per year of cashback from TopCashback to Tesco in exchange for 5,000 Clubcard points.  That would get you 12,000 Avios points or 12,500 Virgin Flying Club miles, so you are effectively buying Avios points for 0.4p.

Until last week, you would also receive a 5% uplift when you transferred cashback to Tesco.  £50 became £52.50 of Clubcard vouchers.  This deal has now ended.  £50 only gets you 5,000 Clubcard points.

If you are not already a TopCashback member, there will an EXCLUSIVE signing up promotion on Head for Points during the next fortnight.  Do not sign up before then or you will regret it!

Love Clubcard, don’t collect Avios?  You should be reading our sister site, Shopper Points (, which covers the latest Clubcard and Nectar offers without any distracting frequent flyer talk!  Why not check it out now?

  1. Everyone’s winter sales are in fu swing now, I’m getting bombarded with offers!

  2. Loads of businesses must really be in a mess; they’re chipping away at all the little bonuses bit by bit and, for us here, slowly making it harder to earn something that’s worth less and less with time.

“There no such thing as a free lunch” – that’s certainly becoming more true with every day that ticks by ;-(

    • Normally that indicates the exact opposite – they are doing well so don’t need to bribe people to use them as much.

  3. Alan Gregg says:

Did mine yesterday and didn’t get it.

  4. Also the £5 bonus from refer a friend is no longer over and above the £50 – it gets included – another erosion!

  5. There are 2500 bonus HHonors points for each stay available if you search for HHonors holiday bonus (cannot post link)

  6. Great just booked 2 rooms for 2 nights without this offer, no difference in price but I’ve forgone 10000 points. 🙁

  7. It normally states it in the t&c’s if you click on more info.

  8. I did a transfer at 5am this morning (before I read this article) and got the 5% bonus

  9. Yes, it ended

  10. Looks like another 2x 30K Tesco quarter & we’re hardly started!

  11. Some really excellent Carlson rates..especially in Norway. £45 a night in Alesund…thanks Raffles!
