Bits: impressive Accor ‘Black Friday’ sale, 25% off Iberia tickets, £10 Amazon cashback last call

Two new Black Friday deals, which are still running over the weekend, came to my attention yesterday.  These are worth a look.

Accor offering ‘Happy Mondays’ prices up to three months in advance

Until Monday, Accor is selling Ibis, Novotel and Mercure rooms at exceptionally low prices – see here.  It is basically offering rooms at the same rate as its last minute ‘Happy Mondays’ deals but for stays booked in advance, up to 28th February.

You won’t beat these prices in a hurry:

Ibis & Ibis Styles (outside London): £25
Ibis & Ibis Styles (London airports): £25
Ibis & Ibis Styles (Central London): £40
Novotel & Mercure (outside London): £40
Novotel & Mercure(Central London): £60

Availability is excellent from a couple of tests I did.

You can only book via this link.  You will need to sign up to Le Club AccorHotels if you are not already a member.

If you have an office Christmas party planned for December, it may be cheaper to book one of these rooms than take a taxi home.  The rather swanky pool at the Novotel Blackfriars is below.

Novotel Blackfriars

25% off Iberia flights

BA’s sister airline, Iberia, is offering 25% off the base fare to all destinations for flights booked by 3rd December which depart from the UK.

It applies to both long haul and short haul.  There is a wide travel window from 15th January to 15th June.

Iberia Express flights are discounted by 5%.

You must book via this link – these prices are not available on the standard website.

Don’t forget your £10 Amazon cashback

Finally, if you registered for the American Express ‘£10 back when you spend £20 at Amazon’ promotion back in October, remember that you only have until 6th December to spend your £20.

The easiest thing to do is to buy a £20 top-up for your Amazon account via this page.  The credit will sit on your account until you next buy something.

I just managed to book the Novotel in Greenwich for tonight for £60. Normal price is showing at £149. Saves me spending time and money on a cab back to Kent after my Christmas party plus I can spend the afternoon in Greenwich which is a result in my eyes.

  • Joe says:

Thanks, booked styles in south Ken for post the Christmas do…chewer than going home!

  • James says:

Can’t believe I missed the Las Vegas redemption offer, im heading there 30th for 8 nights. Anybody got any tips I’m happy to hear them

  • Richard says:

The Accor deal was very well-timed for me! Three single-night stays duly booked.

One interesting point is that you can use Le Club Accorhotels for some, though not all, of the hotels – which is unusual for their deeply discounted rates. It seems to be possible for Novotels in London, at least.

  • JFSV says:

I can’t find availability at the Ibis Heathrow for GBP25 for some reason. Cheapest I find is 44pounds…

  • Andrew H says:

Thanks for this. Saves me doing it on Monday. Ibis Luton Airport booked!

  • Liz says:

OT: Tesco Living Magazine finally arrived in Dundee. One of our main Tesco Extra stores has a whole batch of new gift cards including M&S (my favourite), Boots, Jamie’s Italian, Vue & Odeon Cinemas! Brilliant news! Wish they would sell Amazon!

    • Danny says:

Tesco selling M & S gift cards? I have never seen them in any of my big local stores.

      • Liz says:

        Yes it’s brilliant – £15 & £25 cards !

        • Lady London says:

What do people buy from M & S? I haven’t been able to be inspired by them for years… I’d really like to know what I’m missing (genuinely curious)

          • Anon says:

Only in there for food, 2for£10 meal deals, + Xmas eve they can have 75% off

          • Brian says:

If you’re looking for cheapish, no-nonsense stuff like socks, underwear or slippers, M&S is fine. Plus the food section can be okay, compared to places like Sainsbury’s or Tesco.

          • Liz says:

I like their food and Per Una and Indigo clothes ranges plus we have one with a great cafe.

          • Sam says:

M&S? Dine in for £10, and the Belgian Truffles (half price at £5 this weekend!). Couldn’t tell you about the clothes though.

          • CV3V says:

Usually, well always, food. This weekend they have the usual dine in for £10 deals, but you can swap the wine for a bottle of their Oudinot champagne for an extra tenner. The champagne sells at £25 per bottle for most of they year, sometimes reduced to £16. So a great deal.

          • ankomonkey says:

School shoes and uniform. They generally seem better quality than much of what’s available.

        • Andrew says:

Don’t forget for Tesco mag voucher card must be >£20 for the 100 pt bonus…

    • James67 says:

Hi Liz, you will be pleased to know I wasted no time at all Wednesday night seeking an HHonors status match for my spire! Icing on the cake as I wasfaced with a hilton stay I don’t need to retain gold, having now started using hilton in Asia. Thanks for tip on M&S.

      • Liz says:

I’ve done the same – spotted it on here a couple of days ago and sent off my email! I’ll be really happy if I get gold! I’ve redeemed all my 300,000 IHG pts for our USA trip next year. Started collecting Hilton points to give them a try and about to take out the Hilton credit card in my husbands name.

        • James67 says:

Keep an eye on pointsbreaks before your trip, if something suitable comes up you will be able to refund some of those 300k.As gold already I hope to get HH diamond but retainging gold would be good enough. I’m not so hung up on hoyels rooms as some: I’m rarely in them except to sleep so breakfast is the more important benefit for me.

          • Liz says:

I’ll keep an eye out for points break but probably wouldn’t be so lucky ! We re the same with hotels – we like to be “oot and aboot” as they say! We have booked a lovely Indigo hotel in New Orleans and a CP in Houston which for some unknown reason is pricing at $900 per night for what looks like a standard room! Breakfast included would be great too!

          • James67 says:

Have’t been in years but I used to find rates in Texas often outrageous; there is probably a convention on at the time. Indigos are great, never failed to get a suite upgrade at Kensington. Pointsbreaks have become poor in last couple of years but you never know.

    • Karl says:

Noticed quite a few gift cards I’ve never seen before today. As well as M+S there were Netflix, Odeon and Vue, all of which I use regularly.

      • Danny says:

That probably explains why I haven’t seen M & S cards before, although they still have not reached South London yet 🙂

  • Sam says:

It’s very buggy – tried booking 3 rooms at the Ibis Leeds – and 1 room defaults to 3 times the price so you can’t finish the booking. But 3 individual bookings worked fine at £25 a night. Cracking deal though – cheaper than their travel industry rates! And the online breakfast at £5.95 – can’t imagine i’d save much more finding something local post night out.
