Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

3,000 Avios with your first Rocketmiles hotel booking (not targetted)

Links on Head for Points may pay us an affiliate commission. A list of partners is here.

If you read Head for Points online, this offer may sound familiar because I added it mid-morning to the article on Rocketmiles I ran last week.

However, for everyone who reads the site via the daily emails or reads it online before 10am, you won’t have seen this.

Rocketmiles is a similar business to Kaligo.com and PointsHound.  It offers you a generous pile of airline miles when you book any property through their website.

As with Kaligo.com and PointsHound, Rocketmiles has deals with various hotel room consolidators to provide it with rooms at wholesale prices. Whilst the selection of hotels available is not the largest, the large profit margins on the rooms allow them to offer very generous mileage incentives when you book.

Rocketmiles will offer you 1,000 – 5,000 Avios points PER NIGHT when you book with them.

Rocketmiles

Their pricing, frankly, not always the cheapest.  The price should compare OK with booking the hotel directly from its own website (the consolidator route is often used by hotels to quietly move unsold rooms without cutting their headline price) but you should check other independent sites.

If you are not spending your own money when booking hotels, it can be very attractive.

Generous ‘first booking’ offer

Some HFP readers received a targetted ‘5,000 Avios on your first booking’ bonus email last week.  This was only valid for the person who received it.

However, for the rest of us. you can receive 3,000 Avios on a booking made before 30th June by using this link.

It is important to remember that you will not earn hotel loyalty points or status credit from your stay booked via Rocketmiles. Depending on the chain, you may or may not be able to get your status benefits honoured (free internet, free breakfast, upgrade etc).

Rocketmiles is fully approved by British Airways. You can see their page at ba.com here. Do NOT book via the link on that page, though, as you will not receive the additional 3,000 Avios.  You need to use this link instead.

    I only got 3,000 Virgin!

I took advantage of the 4000 miles offer from Virgin for rocket miles (which is priceline it seems). Just arrived at Loews in Boston to be first told that we had already checked in and then that the room had been cancelled. It is the middle of the night for us although only 10pm in Boston so not got time to dig into it yet but not impressed. I know that Loews had the reservation as they emailed me about it yesterday. Have no idea why it was cancelled- already been charge dot credit card.

Hi @ barnaby100 – we’re truly sorry to hear about this unfortunate case. We received your email and responded within minutes. Turns out the hotel had a systems issue and incorrectly cancelled the room. They quickly reinstated the reservation and we were told everything was good to go. This is a very unusual circumstance so we appreciate your understanding. Hope those Virgin Atlantic miles take you somewhere amazing!

    Best wishes,
    Rocketmiles

Hi. Thanks for your reply. You did indeed reply very quickly on the night- although we didn’t see it until the next day -we were very impressed. Not sure what it happened. It was sorted by the hotel, although they offered us a complimentary breakfast as an apology and then charged us but I will get that sorted out. We stay at the hotel a few times a year and the billing is almost always inaccurate.

I’ve used Rocketmiles for the first time, and was well impressed with ease of use of the website and of course 8000 miles for 2nights in Marrakech. Points were credited within 2 days after checkout. Thank you Rob for highlighting Rocketmiles
