New – earn up to 10,000 Avios with your household, business or landlord insurance has added a new partner – insurance broker Alan Boswell.

As an initial launch deal, they are offering some very attractive bonuses if your household insurance is coming up for renewal.

If you have a buy to let property, you can also pick up a large pile of Avios points when you take out landlord insurance.  You will also earn points if you take out business insurance for your company.

This is what you can earn:

5,000 Avios per policy priced below £500

10,000 Avios per policy priced above £500

These are special introductory offers which run until 15th August.  Beyond that date, you will earn 2,500 Avios for a sub-£500 policy and 5,000 Avios for a £500+ policy.

Because this is an offer, the points will be placed into an account.  You can move them across to British Airways Executive Club using the ‘Combine My Avios’ feature on either website.

Alan Boswell Avios

As a specialist insurance broker, Alan Boswell will give you best quote it can from the wide range of underwriters it works with.  This means that it is very likely that it will be competitive with your current insurance quote as you will be getting the lowest price from across a wide range of providers.

If you have a buy to let property, landlord insurance appears to be a tax deductible expense.  A business insurance policy is obviously also deductible.  This means that it would even be worth paying a little more than you current provider if you could secure 5,000 or 10,000 Avios on top.

How to buy

The system is a little fiddly, I admit.

For business and household insurance, you need to ring Alan Boswell for a quote.  The details can be found on this page of their website.

For landlord insurance, you can get a quote and purchase online via their website.

If your household or business insurance is coming up for renewal, or if you have been considering landlord insurance to protect your rent payments, it is worth getting a quote.  The value of the 5,000 Avios or 10,000 Avios should make them competitive.

The ‘double Avios’ offer runs until 15th August.  Hopefully they will continue to run promotions for people whose policies are not up for renewal until later in the year.

  1. OT The Tesco ink cartridges points offer is back online but only with 100 bonus points

  2. Sundar says:

OT, the Times Travel 4500 avios offer from last year – Is there any wind of a renewal offer this year ? Pretty useful avios…

  3. I took out some business insurance – delighted with package and 5k avios to top it all off. Nice.

  4. Simon says:

Thanks for this Rob; much appreciated. My rental property business recently just hit the 50 tenant mark so going to get my office manager onto this tomorrow as we have a few policies due pretty soon. Will let you know how we get on.

  5. AndyW says:

Printer inks back live… with 100 bonus points

  6. I just called but not sure I got the right information. Apparently, for contents only insurance in a ‘share of freehold’ property (that I own), they treat you as a tenant and I was told to get a quote from which is part of the same group. I asked why and I’m technically a tenant because there is a management company involved. Although that’s legally correct, it seems a bit odd that anyone living in a leasehold or share of freehold property is classified as a tenant. All in all, a bit weird. Good website for real tenants though…may well send my tenants there!

Hi, it’s all a bit insurance speak, do you want to drop me an email at [email protected] and I can explain more if you wish

    • flyforfun says:

Does the same apply for contents only as a leaseholder owner of a flat?

Also, maybe I’m blind but I couldn’t see anywhere to put me Avios number in.

  7. Richard says:

Hi Alan, I have just dropped you an email – I just took out landlords building insurance (this was very competitive) but there wasn’t any boxes to add my Avios account details. So how do I get my Avios points? Was I meant to phone up? Please assist. Regards, Rich.

  8. Richard says:

I’ve had a reply already – I was being too keen – they contact you after you have taken out the policy and add you to the weekly Avios run. Great service!

  9. Just spent 15 minutes on the phone, answering all the usual insurance related questions. The last question was how much is my best quote so far? I answered £45 with Santander, and was told the lowest price of their policies is £75. We could have both saved some time if they asked me that to begin with! Their quote (contents only) was £169, so unfortunately not very competitive in my case.

  10. Alan Boswell Group says:

Thank you for all the comments, it’s a new scheme so we’ve adapted to feedback received. We will be running monthly offers and have plenty of points to use, so any suggestions would be gratefully received.

  12. Terry says:

Tried calling twice. First time got transferred twice and ended up getting an answer message for someone saying they’re not in the office til next week……..second time transferred twice again then after a long time listening to an odd sounding ringing tone I gave up and booked elsewhere.
