We try to keep Tesco Direct deals on our sister site Shopper Points these days, but this offer is so good that we thought it was worth a bigger audience over here.  I am giving it another mention today as it is about to end.

Tomorrow, Monday, is your last chance to take advantage of this excellent Now TV offer.  For £12.50 you will get a Now TV box with 500 extra Clubcard points.  These are worth 1,200 Avios or 1,250 Virgin Flying Club miles, or £15 of Uber credit.

If you’re familiar with Google Chromecast or Amazon Fire Stick, Now TV works in the same way. It connects wirelessly to your broadband signal and allows you to stream content to your TV. As well as accessing BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 there are also lots of other channels available, many of which would otherwise require you to pay for a full satellite or cable subscription.

You can also use the pass to watch Now TV via a ‘smart’ TV or a phone or tablet app.  My experience of doing this is below.

There are three different passes to choose from:

Now TV 500 extra Clubcard points

Here is my experience ….

If you have a standard TV then you use Now TV by plugging in the box provided.  However, if you already have a ‘smart TV’ like us, it still works.  You should get one of these packages if you don’t have satellite or cable TV.

You don’t need the Now TV box which you can drop onto eBay.  All you need is the pass inside.

I bought the version with the two month Sky Entertainment pass.  I activated the pass on the Now TV website and then downloaded the Now TV app onto our TV.  I logged in using the same credentials that I used on the website and bingo, it is up and running.

I have never been bothered with satellite or cable TV.  However, I am more than happy to be able to access for free, for the next two months:

  • Babylon Berlin (for my Mrs)
  • the new season of Curb Your Enthusiasm
  • the Alan Partridge episodes made exclusively for Sky

There is a huge amount of other stuff in the ‘Entertainment’ package too.  Remember that, because of the Clubcard points, you are effectively getting the ‘Entertainment’ pass for free and it will be active over Christmas and New Year.

You can also watch Now TV via an iPhone, iPad or Android app.  Again, all you need is the pass from the box to set up your account with your free trial of Sky Entertainment / Cinema / Kids.

It appears that you can also ‘stack’ the passes, so you can either have Sky Entertainment, Sky Kids and Sky Cinema running in parallel or buy a longer term supply of one of these.

Importantly, you can cancel your pass as soon as it is activated.  It isn’t even hidden – there is a big fat cancel button on the screen! It will continue working until its original expiry date.  This means that there is zero risk that you forget to cancel and end up paying for another month or two.

You can see all three Now TV products included in this offer is here.  Remember to order by tomorrow night to pick up the additional Avios or Virgin miles via Clubcard.

Just noticed that the Sky Store voucher can be redeemed for physical DVDs as well as the digital rental.
Plus there’s a Black Friday sale still on. 🙂

If signing up for Sky Cinema (I assume that this will work with the others as well) sign up for the 14 day free trial first and then add the voucher to get more time.
