British Airways adds three new airport lounges in Innsbruck, Ibiza and Seville

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

Back in September, we published a list of British Airways European destinations which did not offer lounge access.

There are some airports on the British Airways network which simply do not have an airport lounge, as I found out in Pula, Croatia last Summer.  There isn’t much British Airways can do about this.

There are others, however, where there is a lounge but British Airways simply refuses to pay for it.  There were some where BA’s sister company, Iberia, was happy to pay but BA was not.

Yesterday British Airways announced some good news.  Lounge access is now available at three of the airports on the list:

Innsbruck (we covered the opening of that lounge here)

Ibiza (Anika reviewed the lounge here)

Seville

You can now access the lounges at these airports if you are flying in Club Europe, or are flying in Euro Traveller with a suitable status card.

The campaign continues though.

These airports have a lounge which BA won’t pay for but you can use a Priority Pass instead:

Lanzarote ACE

Cagliari/Elmas CAG

Catania/Fontanarossa CTA

Madeira FNC

Heraklion International Nikos Kazantzakis HER

Humberside HUY

Mykonos JMK

John Paul II International Krakow-Balice KRK

Olbia/Costa Smeralda OLB

Palermo/Punta Raisi PMO (landside)

Paphos International PFO

Thessaloniki Macedonia International SKG (as of 1st July 2017)

Split SPU

Rhodes – Diagoras International RHU

Tallinn TLL

These airports have a lounge which BA won’t pay for and which only accept cash, not Priority Pass / Lounge Club:

Brindisi/Casale BDS

Bordeaux-Merignac BOD

Bari/Palese International BRI

Dalaman International DLM

London City Airport LCY (in the Private Jet Terminal)

Finally, here is a reminder of British Airways-served airports which have no lounge at all so you can’t blame BA for not letting you in:

Bergen, Flesland Airport BGO

Corfu / Ioannis Kapodistrias International Airport CFU

Chania International Airport CHQ

Chambery-Savoie CMF

Bergerac-Roumaniere EGC

Friedrichshafen FDH

  • Lee says:

I think BA no longer fly from Stavanger

    • pauldb says:

Nor BGO, BIQ, MPL or BOD. Turns out adding lounges is only the second most effective way to clear the list!

      • Klaus-Peter Dudas says:

They do still fly to BGO and a few others through the SUN-AIR franchise services from BLL

  • J Monty says:

BA have a lounge in Aberdeen which has been closed for “refurbishment” since last May(?). £5 voucher offered in lieu: reopening possibly May.

    • John says:

“There are some airports on the British Airways network which simply do not have an airport lounge, as I found out in Pula, Croatia last Summer. There isn’t much British Airways can do about this.”

This comment shows exactly what they could do – offer a voucher for €5 or 50 kuna/kroner.

RTM gives a €15 voucher which just about covers a sandwich and drink…. wonder if BA actually pays €15 for it

    • IanMacK says:

Certainly BAEC Gold card (and Club Europe) customers can use the Northern Lights lounge.EC Silver cannot – maybe r comes into play.
Disappointing time taken to build and fit out the ‘new’ BA lounge though (but NL lounge is well stocked with BrewDog beer !!)

  • Nigel says:

Paphos always used to accept Priority Pass up to and including Summer 2016. Does anyone know when they stopped and became cash only??

  • Pauk says:

    Keflavik is another one

  • Klaus-Peter Dudas says:

KEF should also be on the list somewhere. It only has an Iceland air lounge.

    • Rob says:

I knocked it off to keep it simple, it was on the September list. Added back.

  • Diego says:

    Slightly OT.
I was looking for a ticket from LGW to TFS on BA and when I was about to buy I realised that it says “This flight is operated by Germania”. I am very confused. Germany does fifth freedom flights and in code share with BA? Is it wet lease? What is this airline like? Example flight BA2702 . Thank you!

    • Will says:

It’s a leased aircraft BA have brought in to operate routes at LGW. BA metal has been shuffled around in order to fill slots it acquired from Monarch’s demise (it has to use them or it loses these slots) so both Titan and Germania have been brought in to assist.

  • Tim says:

    Tallinn accepts One World Emerald

  • Zark says:

Seville has a poor lounge with Priority pass access as I recall.
I hope BA’s lounge is not the same one, but cannot tell as according to BA’s website, there is no lounge there when I entered Sevile in to lounge finder……

    • Clive says:

+1 yes, the PP lounge at SVQ was a big disappointment. It was telling that there was a sign on the reception desk advising on where to address complaints.
