Pizza Express removed from Avios and British Airways sites

Links on Head for Points may pay us an affiliate commission. A list of partners is here.

The direct partnership between Avios and Pizza Express seems to have been a short one.

Pizza Express was originally working with loyalty app Bink to allow you to collect Avios via their platform.  Avios then dropped Bink and allowed members to collect Avios directly at Pizza Express by simply registering their credit card via the Avios estore.

It looks like this partnership has come to an end.  You can still find the dedicated Pizza Express page on avios.com but once you click the link to register the company is no longer there. We could also not find anything on the BA website.

PS.  Debenhams appears to have disappeared as well …..

  1. OT – I introduced my BAPP to ALDI this morning, can confirm it’s now accepted even in my Northern backwater!

    • Sorry, Powerhouse ????

    • Popping in today so will give it a try. Their coffee beans aren’t too bad and cheaper than elsewhere so I have an Aldi latte each morning 🙂

  2. O/T but am I the only one who has a partner who hates airport lounges? We have platinum cards so have access to priority pass lounges but my OH prefers to walk around the shops and eat in either the restaurants or fast food places in the airport. He doesn’t drink alcohol so that doesn’t draw him to lounge and the food offerings are usually very poor.

    • Mrs W sometimes actively avoids anything to do with points & miles depending on how much she wants to annoy me at that particular time.

    • If you ever go to USA try him in a Centurion Lounge, of which there are few. They are in a completely different league; I agree most lounges are disappointing (on a small sample).

    • If they are too crowded I prefer to walk around too, or find a quiet empty gate area to sit in peace. On a short connection to/from a longhaul flight I also prefer to walk around to rushing to a lounge only to spend more time sitting.

    • I love them for a sit down and diet coke…. My wife prefers to shop for every moment before boarding. Because we struggle to find things to buy living in London and having superfast wifi.

    • Give him your shopping list then! My OH loves alcohol and massages so would never turn down a lounge visit.

      • I like a wee glass of wine so I sit in the lounge and rest my legs while he shops = win win 🙂

OT: Avis bonus Virgin Flying Club. I did a 6 day rental (Group C) with Avis recently from Heathrow. I was expecting 6000 miles under the current Virgin promotion but only the standard 1000 + 100 miles have posted. Will the difference post later or I have missed something? I booked through my App, so didn’t follow any particular link. Was there a specific AWD that I should have entered? I think there was one already applied – 20% off winter promotion. Has that messed things up?

    • I would wait a week and then submit a claim to Virgin.

I put my hands up – I’ve made a mistake. These mikes are for a Hertz rental that I made a day or two before.

        • I’m trying my first Avis/virgin promo rental tonight and I’ll let you know how they post

        • Michael Jennings says:

Yes, me too. I’m in Portugal and a two day group C rental cost 21 euros. Absurdly good deal if the points post.

  4. OT – when using Tesco Clubcard vouchers to make a booking on Hotels.com, after you click on the link to the website, make sure you log into your Hotels.com account before making the booking. You will then be able to access any discounted prices you have been offered as a member (this has just saved me another £20 on a booking). If you don’t log in, you will be charged the higher prices open to non-members.

OT – there’s an offer in BA’s Club (online) magazine this month for the Intercontinental in HK. 4 nights for 3 and a guaranteed upgrade to Harbour views with Club access for 2. Valid from 1st March to 29th December (with some blackout dates). Haven’t looked at full T&C’s but might help some people out here… http://theclub.ba.com/february-2018/en/exclusive-club-offers/

    • That is a decent deal with the harbour view and Club, to be honest, despite the construction on both sides.

  6. oOOH! Thank you Anna.

  7. OT: Sadly, still no tesco conversion bonus, clubcard to avios is ‘win a share of 1 million avios’ , expires in 25 days.

  8. Great tip, thanks Anna.

  9. O/T again, I need to contact IHG about an accelerate query. What is the best contact email or phone number? I am spire elite if that makes a difference?
