It’s happening! After having hosted successful Christmas parties over the last two years, we’re finally doing a Summer Party.

We are currently in the process of finalising everything but we can announce that we will be taking over The Glasshouse room at the Holiday Inn Camden Lock.  Because, let’s be honest, you haven’t been to Camden Market for years ….

Holiday Inn Camden Lock

The Glasshouse is a very bright room with a huge window front facing the canal – it is the ground floor space on the photo above.  It is a lovely spot for a Summer event.

The venue stretches over two floors with its own private bar and has a capacity of 250. This means we can host 100 more readers than at our Christmas parties.  We are paying for security so we can also open the doors to an outside area by the water.  Not sure why we need a security guard for this but that’s the hotel rule ….

We want our Summer party to be a more casual event.  There won’t be any (major) speeches and there won’t be a lengthy raffle.

There will be a full cash bar with normal Camden prices, which means £5ish for a beer, and a couple of sitting areas.

Because we need to ensure that people who ask for tickets turn up, we will be charging for tickets.

The party will be 6pm to 8pm on Tuesday 3rd July.  The bar will remain open for a while after 8pm for anyone who wants to stay longer, and of course there are no shortage of bars and restaurants in Camden if you want to carry on your evening elsewhere.

Tickets are £10 including VAT and will go on sale later this week.  This is half of the price of the Christmas party but we are not including any drinks this time.  If we can line up a headline sponsor in the next week or so then that may change ….

We will publish more details in another article in a couple of days.

There will be 250 tickets available. We hope that the larger venue will give more readers the chance to join us and also slow down the ticket sale process so they don’t all go in two minutes as at Christmas …..

We hope that you can come along to meet Rob and myself and to talk miles, points, credit cards and travel with other readers.  Bring a friend or come by yourself – you won’t struggle to find someone to share your stories with.

Come on guys can we have a party at the weekend please? Week nights are basically impossible for anyone outside a short distance from London.

Everyone have a super time, and “thank you” Rob and Anika for being responsible, on a daily basis, for brightening up our lives – its actually a kind of social service, in the best sense, that you kind people offer – Bill on the South Coast (Eastbourne area) and unfortunately too far away to attend – enjoy reading and acting on your daily advice and learning from the useful comments sent in by HFP “followers”

Where is the photo? Am I missing something?

The brightly lit up room on the ground floor behind the footbridge. Or can you not see any photo?

    • Rob says:

      Yes, there is a photo!

Rob REALLY needs to set up one of those flash screens you get on some sites when they detect you have an adblocker. Every single article has at least one person confused by this!

Pro Tip: Block scripts as well as ads. See how fast the web gets once you stop running other people’s almost entirely unnecessary code in your browser.

Yay! I can make this one!
