How to get free Fast Track security at London Stansted Airport

You can now get free Fast Track security at London Stansted.

Yesterday I wrote about how you can get free Fast Track security passes for Manchester Airport by doing a ‘click and collect’ purchase for the duty free shop.

As Fast Track costs £10 for two, and you only needed to spend £10 at Duty Free, this was clearly a good deal.  So good, in fact, that immediately after our emails went out yesterday they changed the rules.  You now need to pre-order £20 of duty free.

In turns out London Stansted is running an identical offer.  (The two airports share the same owner so it is not totally surprising.)

Via this link, you can get codes for two free Fast Track security passes at Stansted by pre-ordering £20 of duty free items.

Remember that “If the Click & Collect order is not collected, the customer will be contacted and billed for the full cost of the Security FastTrack Pass.”

Sorry for O/T, Curve card related. How long does it take for Curve to respond to emails when disputing a transaction and getting a chargeback because the merchant hasn’t fulfilled the order (House of Fraser)? Contacted Curve on Sunday after 2 weeks of getting nowhere with House of Fraser.

Wish Lufthansa would run a 25% conversion bonus from MR.

    • Rob says:

Lufthansa isn’t a MR partner, full stop!

      • BJ says:

Oh nooo, I’ve messed up big time here, schoolboy error 🙂 No matter, I should hopefully generate enough miles from the Hilton promo for a decent regional flight in Asia.

        • BJ says:

! Thanks all, I will probably just keep the points in MR until required as I have now decided to keep the platinum card. If another conversion bonus comes along for FlyingBlue then I will probably top up the miles I have there. My Hilton stays should yield 27.5-30k M&M which I can probably best use on a one way regional business flight or mileage bargain. Had a look at LH hotel redemotions, truly shccking!

      • Oli says:

In some countries you can transfer MR to Payback to LH, at a bit of a loss though!

    • Peter K says:

      MR to Marriott to LH?

OT: For those that have completed the Hilton Diamond challenge do you get an automatic acknowledgement of the completion and confirmation of extended Diamond status?

    • Pangolin says:

Yes, you should receive an email within one or two days, with the validity date included.

    • Craig says:

      Yes you do, it’s titled.

M&M. Looking to wind down account. Is there any reasonable routing for M&M to Marr/SPG? Am grateful.

Heathrow Rewards, redeem for a Best Western or Radisson gift card, redeem for a discount via their hotel portal.

O/T Amex offer for 5k MR on £150 spend at Hilton
Terms say that it is not valid on online spend and must be paid at hotel checkout. Is this accurate as this will invalidate any advance purchase rates?

    • Rob says:

You SHOULD be OK, because the hotel processes your payment and Amex can’t tell how it was done. It better work as I have prepaid a stay in October (just after the offer closes) purely to hopefully make it count for this ….

    • Brian S says:

I used this offer on a mix of prepaid rates and payment at checkout and worked fine.

As Rob has said the actual Hotel processes it so I don’t see how Amex can tell if its checkout or not.

Aer Lingus sale on to annoy Ryanair, including transatlantic flights.

Book for fares, better service, Dublin preclear. Forget about miles, points etc as, just like Gold Circle, nothing works and it’ll only annoy you repeatedly chasing them up.

  • Choons says:

OT – got an email from BA yesterday saying that it would be offering 15pc off all avios hotel and car hire bookings made by 30 September – that is, only those paid for in full or in part with avios. Does not seem to be active yet and I’m not sure if it’s account specific either. Might be of use to some.

    • Rob says:

It is active, but it is personalised to you. When you log in and search for a hotel you will see you are getting 0.66p per Avios. This is 15% better than the usual rate. Still rubbish, but 15% better ….

      • Peter K says:

Not sure if it is because of the offer but a hotel I booked back in June with Avios to stay in Jan 19 is now only available B&B, no other food/drink options. Had hoped to rebook at the lower Avios cost but will stick with what I have!

  • Tony says:

Blacklane seem significantly more expensive (20-40%) than mydriver for the same type of car. Am I missing something?

    • Rob says:

Blacklane is pricey and good. mydriver has a bad reputation, at least among HFP readers.

      • Tony says:

Interesting to learn. I’ve only used mydriver half a dozen times or so & never had a problem. Perhaps I’ve just been lucky!
