Hilton has announced plans to open a Hilton Garden Inn overlooking the Silverstone motor racing circuit in Northamptonshire.

Due to open in early 2020, it will include a rooftop terrace and offer raceday hospitality experiences for all the major sporting events held at the venue.  It will also have direct access to the Silverstone conference centre.

The new build hotel will be constructed on Silverstone’s International Pits straight, with extensive views over the track.  Guests will be able to enjoy views of the circuit from their guestroom balconies.

Hilton has a slightly odd niche in stadium hotels.  In the UK, it already has the Hilton Ageas Bowl in Southampton, the catchily named Hilton Garden Inn Manchester Emirates Old Trafford and the soon-to-open Hilton Garden Inn Doncaster Racecourse.

    Is the best card for collecting Avios not the A free Amex Rewards card that gives 1 membership point per pound spent and then transfer to Avios?

    Looking for some advice on a hypothetical situation.
    About to book conrad rangali on points (5 nights for 4). If flight is delayed and I end up arriving 1 day after scheduled arrival, could I claim back 1 additional night using AMEX travel insurance (will purchase flights using AMEX), or is it just a tough luck situation and I will lose the lost night.

    Never booked hotels using points before so would appreciate the help.

    OT: not sure if anyone else in the world does this kind of thing, but does anyone know of a good, simple to use ‘lifetime flight tracker’? i use flightmemory to store all my first born’s flight details (113km flown so far at 2.5 yo) because i think he’ll appreciate it/be vaguely interested when he’s older… but it’s a fairly clunky website. anyone know of any better (also free) alternatives?

    You don’t get Clubcard points on gift cards any more 🙁
    However I do similar but with 10% off Tesco gift cards bought with Amex at Tesco esso, buy Costa gift cards with MOC, with the petrol coupon for £60 spend I was getting about 40% discount maybe slightly more as I could stack a couple of moc’s

      You get bonus clubcard points on gift cards of you use the Tesco Payplus app someone has mentioned before, so 1 point per £4 on giftcards.

        You get Tesco CC pts for gift cards if you pay using a Tesco debit or credit card. If using pay+ you get eg 125 CC pts for £100 gift card spend.

        In one Tesco I was told that if a purchase contains a gift card, they can’t take Tesco Pay. In another the till worker attempted to scan it, but it didn’t go through.

      I think he means if you get a £3 off a £30 spend our £5 off a £40 spend coupon sent to you through the post by Tesco.

    Hi,

    I’m taking off in 8 hours. I booked two business class one way tickets using a Lloyds upgrade voucher (that’s an Avios bookmh. My companion gained Silver status after I booked. Does anyone know if this means he will get a third case?

    The only mention I can find on the BA site is an extra case on an Economy booking.
