Until 31st January 2019 you can find reduced fares on flights to the US, Caribbean, Asia and Africa as well as great prices on hotel+flights packages.

Full details are on this special website.

Looking at the Upper Class deals, there are some interesting prices available.

Virgin Atlantic Winter sale

The standout deal looks like Johannesburg at £1,799.  This is available until 30th June, as long as you book 14 days in advance.

There are also several US routes included in the sale if you can travel in April, July/August or November 2019.

Upper Class prices out of London include:

Here is our last review of Virgin Upper Class and here is our last review of Virgin’s Clubhouse lounge in Heathrow Terminal 3.  Virgin’s official Upper Class website is here.

There are also some decent Premium Economy deals out there which will be especially interesting for anyone chasing Virgin Flying Club tier points without paying for Upper Class.  Destinations from London include:

  • New York £782
  • Boston £724
  • Washington £782
  • Miami £783
  • Los Angeles £795
  • Las Vegas £770
  • Shanghai £754
  • Barbados £689

Economy deals are also available, starting at £279 for Miami (from London) and for Boston and New York (from London or Manchester).

Package deals are available from £379 (three nights in New York or Boston with flights in Economy).  A potentially great deal is a seven night flight and hotel package in Barbados from £499.  More ‘flight and hotel’ deals can be found on Virgin’s dedicated packages site.

Here is our review of Virgin’s new Economy Delight product, launched earlier this year, and this is why the maths says you should book it.

Travel dates and full details of what is available can be found on the Virgin Atlantic sale website here.

You need to book by 31st January 2019 at the latest, but there is limited availability and it is worth jumping in now if you want to secure key dates.

  • James says:

Was hoping for some really great Caribbean prices but nothing to tempt me really.

  • Filipino_chino says:

If you could combine this with the £50 off a £200 spend at amex travel, then I might be able to get a cheap flight to NYC from Manchester.. (got the offers on 3 cards)

    • JPa says:

You can combine it. Prices are coming out the same on Amex travel as direct.

      • Simon says:

except for economy tickets I can’t get it to provide anything other than economy light 🙁

  • Paul Brennan says:

Don’t you think that Upper Class Orlando flight cost is ridiculous!! £700+ higher than a Washington (a business route). Likely because they use the aircraft with few UC seats and clearly don’t have much difficulty filling them.

    • Anna says:

A Disney/Universal holiday in Orlando seems to be such a desirable status symbol now that people will pay pretty much anything. It’s cheaper to fly to California and do it there.

  • Tom says:

I was astonished to find recently that Virgin seem to be selling their cheap economy tickets to NYC without a Saturday stay requirement. Fly out Mon, back Fri on the cheapest economy fares.. I hadn’t spotted it before and don’t see BA following. Is this to try and compete with Norwegian?!

  • Will says:

Bit gutted it doesn’t seem to work in reverse, looking for ShanghaiPE to London return, £750 if you start in London but £1500 if you start in Shanghai 🙁

  • Zoe says:

Would the Virgin Delight flights sold as part of a package (eg to Barbados) still be upgradable with miles?

    • Lou says:

I would think so, but I think it’s more cost effective to upgrade from an economy classic rather than delight.

  • Tony says:

Note that over on FT someone has pointed to a J fare on the MAN-LAX route for £1571, which is quite a bargain!

  • Oh Matron! says:

When I’ve paid less than £1K MAN-BOS in UC before, I agree.
