Who are the British Airways hotel partners where you can earn Avios points?

It is very easy to earn Avios points when you stay at a hotel.  Let’s look at who British Airways partners with.

In addition to earning Avios from flying, British Airways has commercial agreements with virtually every large hotel group to let you earn Avios on your stays or transfer their loyalty points into Avios. In this article we’ll look at which companies participate.

This page of ba.com shows all of the Avios hotel partners where you can earn DIRECTLY from your stay.

Who are the British Airways hotel partners where I can earn Avios?

It is worth bearing in mind that almost every hotel group runs its own loyalty scheme, allowing you to earn and redeem their own loyalty points.  Hotel schemes work with Avios in one of two ways:

  • you earn Avios INSTEAD of hotel loyalty points by telling them your BA Executive Club number at check in, or
  • you earn hotel loyalty points which you can convert to Avios when you hit certain thresholds

Some programmes like IHG One Rewards offer both options, to add to the confusion.  With IHG, you can earn 2 Avios per $1 if you collect directly, or you can take IHG One Rewards points and later convert them at a 5:1 ratio if decide not to use them for a free hotel night.

Who are the Avios hotel partners?

The following three hotel groups offer Avios INSTEAD of their own hotel points if you wish to take this option.

Most other major chains (and indeed the three chains below) will allow you convert their own loyalty points into Avios but you will need to have enough to meet their conversion minimum.

Accor Hotels (Accor Live Limitless)

Including Adagio, Ibis, M Gallery, Mercure, Novotel, Sofitel, Pullman. Raffles, Swissotel and Fairmont.

You must be a member of Accor Live Limitless to collect Avios.

The earning rate varies by brand. The worse deal is Adagio Access which earns 1 Avios per €4 spent. At the top end, Sofitel and other high end brands earn 2.5 Avios per €2 spent.

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG One Rewards)

You must join IHG One Rewards in order to earn Avios.

You can earn 2 Avios per $1 spent at InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo and other full service brands.  You earn 1 Avios per $1 at Staybridge Suites and Candlewood Suites.

Marriott (Marriott Bonvoy)

You must sign up to Marriott Bonvoy to earn Avios.

You can earn 2 Avios per $1 spent at most brands in the Marriott portfolio, and a reduced level of 1 Avios per $1 at mid market and limited service brands such as Moxy and AC Hotels.  There are now 32 brands to choose from.
