IT’S BACK: Up to 10,000 Avios with your household, business or landlord insurance

Links on Head for Points may pay us an affiliate commission. A list of partners is here.

One of the better Avios earning offers we have promoted in the past is for Alan Boswell Group personal, business and landlord insurance. They were a long-standing partner until last year, when the Avios Travel Rewards program was shut down.

It has taken Alan Boswell Group some time to re-establish their Avios partnership with British Airways Executive Club rather than  The good news is that the deal is now live again.

You can earn up to 10,000 Avios when you take out household, business or landlord insurance.

If your household insurance is due soon you may want to give them a call.

If you have a buy to let property, you can also pick up a large pile of Avios points when you take out landlord insurance.  You will also earn points if you take out business insurance for your company.

You need to be based in the UK, or insuring a risk in the UK if you are based abroad, to earn Avios.

How many Avios can you earn?

Here are the new earning rates:

1,000 Avios per policy priced between £100 and £200

2,000 Avios per policy priced between £201 and £500

5,000 Avios per policy priced between £501 and £1,000

At least 10,000 Avios per policy priced above £1,000

You will be emailed a voucher which you can redeem directly into your British Airways Executive Club account at Vouchers will be emailed within 30 days of the effective date of the policy. If you choose to pay monthly you will receive your voucher after the second payment is completed.

Alan Boswell Avios

As a specialist insurance broker, Alan Boswell will give you best quote it can from the wide range of underwriters it works with.  This means that it is very likely that it will be competitive with your current insurance quote as you will be getting the lowest price from across a wide range of providers.

If you have a buy to let property, landlord insurance appears to be a tax deductible expense.  A business insurance policy is obviously also deductible.  This means that it would even be worth paying a little more than your current provider if you could secure a few thousand Avios on top.

How to buy

The system is a little fiddly, I admit.

For business and household insurance, you need to ring Alan Boswell for a quote.  The details can be found on this page of their website.

For landlord insurance, you can get a quote and purchase online via their website here.

Don’t forget to factor in a value for the Avios when comparing with your existing quote.

  1. Yvonne M says:

Renewed landlord insurance in June and was emailed the codes to redeem a couple of days ago out of the blue, a nice surprise since I didn’t think they were still running the promotion.

  2. Shaun McWilliam says:

Ditto. Rec a call and follow up with v competitive quotes although told no Avios…..then rec the codes for 10K so result…

  3. Mikeact says:

Looking on the, could somebody remind me, @MyAirItalyClub ?

  4. Do they also deal with car insurance?

    • Alan Boswell Group says:

Hi Josh, we do do car insurance but it’s not part of the Promotion as the margins aren’t quite there to justify it.

  5. Eddie Davies says:

Did business with these last year. Very pleasant and efficient to deal with and very competitive prices. Avios under old scheme posted quickly so will certainly consider under new scheme

  6. Thanks Rob for the tip for Alan Boswell insurance. They are pleasant and courteous to deal with. I took out a household contents policy and they sent me the Avios voucher code which worked fine, the Avios posting to my BAEC account within days. I shall also be transferring my car insurance to them later this year.

  7. on a previous occasion when Rob promoted Boswell, i rung up and got a quote – and even with a generous value on the Avios earned, they were miles off being competitive. ymmv.

  8. Sussex bantam says:

I asked Alan Boswell for a quote two years ago. Whilst they couldn’t compete with my existing broker on price the whole process was very smooth and easy. I will certainly ask them again

  9. Dimitri says:

I am still waiting for my avios for over a year now!

    • Alan Boswell Group says:

      Hi Dimitri,

If you can drop me a note at [email protected] and I will trace when we sent them.

Sometimes there is no reference when we post Avios so you can’t see any reference from us.

    • Email the address in the other comment, Simon will sort it quickly. If you’d emailed me at any point about this I could have had it fixed within a couple of days.

  10. That’s frustrating, I just renewed a week ago with them.

  11. What’s the main impediment for them not going the household insurance online? We are almost two decades into the 21st century after all…

    • Shoestring says:

I guess they hinted it already: no money in it for them

      margins game

you discount, you give a good rate to be competitive, you give another discount with the Avios: where’s the profit?

      • Alan Boswell Group says:

        Hi all

On household it comes down to advice. We don’t want to be cheap as chips online and want to make sure our clients are covered. We’re a chartered broker and have great feefo, do like to thing we’re doing things right. If we were cheap online there would actually be more margins as no human intervention, but far less claims paid out.
