IHG Rewards Club (the Holiday Inn, HI Express, Crowne Plaza, InterContinental etc group) has just published its new list of heavily discounted PointBreaks redemptions.

You can book these hotels for stays until 31st October.

These hotels are bookable NOW via ihg.com. Popular hotels will use up their allocation of reduced price rooms quickly, so book soon if you are interested. As with all IHG Rewards Club reward nights, you can cancel without penalty at any time and get your points back.

Holiday Inn Staybridge Suites Heathrow Bath Road

This is, to be honest, the best list we have seen for quite a while.  It is also, by far, the longest.

If you try to book one of these hotels on Tuesday morning for the 1st September to 31st October period and it is showing the full points price, this means that the hotel has sold out of its allocation of PointBreaks nights.

What are the PointBreaks highlights?

Not surprisingly the better deals are at the 15,000 points level.

All three of the 15,000 points UK options are recommended.  Hotel Indigo Dundee has great feedback and you can check out the new V&A offshoot.  Crowne Plaza London Heathrow T4 is fab as I reviewed here.  Hotel Indigo Stratford Upon Avon is a recent opening which has apparently had a lot of money spent on it.

You’ve also got the InterContinental in Sao Paolo, a Holiday Inn in Paris, two Holiday Inn’s in Lisbon, Crowne Plaza Dubai Apartments (not on the beach), Crowne Plaza Perth, the Holiday Inn on Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco and an InterContinental in Miami.

My pic of the 10,000 point redemptions is Staybridge Suites London – Heathrow Bath Road.  Here is our review and it is pictured below.  For 10,000 points it’s cheaper than renting a one-bed flat ….

The Crowne Plaza in Doha is also interesting as I need to be there in a few weeks, but I am tempted by a beach property – I’d be saving a fortune though ….. There are also three more UAE options in what is actually peak season.

How to book a PointBreaks room

PointBreaks availability is limited so book ASAP if you are interested.

You can book via the IHG PointBreaks page here or via the standard booking page here.

You are able to book these hotels for dates up to 31st October.

If you are trying to book a reward night for a date up to 31st October and it is pricing at the full rate, the hotel has sold its allocation of PointBreaks nights.

You allowed a maximum of two bookings per individual hotel. Each booking can be for as many nights as you want. Remember that if you attempt to amend your booking later by dropping a night or two the whole booking may reprice at the full rate.

My Q – it doesnt mention Principle as a brand in the 1st offer’s T&C, but it states some come under the HOliday Inn Brand and IC brand, Wondering if a stay at the Principle Manchester will trigger the stay at IC offer? Or does the Principle come under the Regent Hotels Brand?

O/T if I can offer anything worthwhile to this day, I would say I am currently reading the best book I’ve ever read this century.

It’s Any Human Heart by William Boyd.

Such a fantastic book .Don’t die without reading it.

  • Shoestring says:

you should read my book recommendation, even if you don’t particularly like me 🙂

Can you pay for extra leg room seats if you buy a return virgin economy light flight?

    Thanks

another look a day later –
the main thing is that more than one target can be achieved by the same stay. the promotion allows this kind of “stacking”.

would add that as IC’s likely comparitively much more expensive than the bottom end brands, so saving even 1 night at an IC could take a lot out of the overall cost. you could also do this by making the 2 weekend stays at any lower level brand (HIX or so). then 1 night each at 2 different IC’s. This does add a night, taking it up to 6 minimum, but cost should be less. Your actual choice is also limited by which hotels you can find that are offering bonus point packages as you need 2 out of the 4 bookings to be ones where you choose a bonus point package from the available rates when booking.

I’d be all over this offer for this number of points if the extra nights (which we’ve now got down to potentially 2 cheapo weekends somehwere at lower brand(s). were not too many more than I’d stay anyway.

thanks Lady London. TBH there arent many ICs either and we already have our overseas travel booked which is quite a chunk in the next few months (and not IHG)
I also assume my stays have to be booked under the bonus points packages?
I am soooo tempted but not sure if I’ll manage it- also always prefer Hilton diamond because of the free brekkie…!

Just booked Heathrow hotel for my brother using my IHG points. I put him as an additional guest in the room. Anybody had any issues with this? He will be checking in himself.

  • Matt says:

Staybridge Bath Rd has vanished from the list now 🙁

    • Rob says:

Not surprising, I would have been impressed if it had lasted more than 24 hours.

      • Matt says:

Yes – I spent just one night here for working in West London and wish I could have stayed longer!
