IHG Rewards Club (the Holiday Inn, HI Express, Crowne Plaza, InterContinental etc group) has just published its new list of heavily discounted PointBreaks redemptions.

You can book these hotels for stays until 31st October.

These hotels are bookable NOW via ihg.com. Popular hotels will use up their allocation of reduced price rooms quickly, so book soon if you are interested. As with all IHG Rewards Club reward nights, you can cancel without penalty at any time and get your points back.

Holiday Inn Staybridge Suites Heathrow Bath Road

This is, to be honest, the best list we have seen for quite a while.  It is also, by far, the longest.

If you try to book one of these hotels on Tuesday morning for the 1st September to 31st October period and it is showing the full points price, this means that the hotel has sold out of its allocation of PointBreaks nights.

What are the PointBreaks highlights?

Not surprisingly the better deals are at the 15,000 points level.

All three of the 15,000 points UK options are recommended.  Hotel Indigo Dundee has great feedback and you can check out the new V&A offshoot.  Crowne Plaza London Heathrow T4 is fab as I reviewed here.  Hotel Indigo Stratford Upon Avon is a recent opening which has apparently had a lot of money spent on it.

You’ve also got the InterContinental in Sao Paolo, a Holiday Inn in Paris, two Holiday Inn’s in Lisbon, Crowne Plaza Dubai Apartments (not on the beach), Crowne Plaza Perth, the Holiday Inn on Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco and an InterContinental in Miami.

My pic of the 10,000 point redemptions is Staybridge Suites London – Heathrow Bath Road.  Here is our review and it is pictured below.  For 10,000 points it’s cheaper than renting a one-bed flat ….

The Crowne Plaza in Doha is also interesting as I need to be there in a few weeks, but I am tempted by a beach property – I’d be saving a fortune though ….. There are also three more UAE options in what is actually peak season.

How to book a PointBreaks room

PointBreaks availability is limited so book ASAP if you are interested.

You can book via the IHG PointBreaks page here or via the standard booking page here.

You are able to book these hotels for dates up to 31st October.

If you are trying to book a reward night for a date up to 31st October and it is pricing at the full rate, the hotel has sold its allocation of PointBreaks nights.

You allowed a maximum of two bookings per individual hotel. Each booking can be for as many nights as you want. Remember that if you attempt to amend your booking later by dropping a night or two the whole booking may reprice at the full rate.

Trying to get one/two nights during any weekend in Stratford-upon-Avon, already sold out every single weekend….

    • BJ says:

They were available when list was released, I booked last weekend in October just before commenting on the better properties in Bits early yesterday evening.

Rob, All references to 31 Aug need to be changed to 31 October? PB only covering 2 months this time. I thought it was usually 3.

  • Louise says:

Should this be October? – “You are able to book these hotels for dates up to 31st August.
If you are trying to book a reward night for a date up to 31st August”

  • Tariq says:

HI South Normanfon is also a decent refurb property at 10k points.

    • John says:

Seems like the only one I actually have a chance of staying at. For me it’s about getting a hotel that I normally need to pay for for cheaper

  • Luthar says:

Anyone tried the Hotel Indigo in Phuket? I’m thinking of giving that one a go.

    • BJ says:

I think it must be relatively new, I didn’t even know it existed. With the pound having fallen by 50% against the Baht since I was first there 15 years ago, point redemptions are in many cases a better deal than cash. for big chain hotels. The falling pound means Thailand is no longer a cheap place to go, even McDonalds has become more comparable to or expensive than UK. Indigo is in Patong beach, centre of all the nightlife, bars and shops so if you are looking for a quiet option it is not the place to go.

“There are even two options in New York and New Jersey at 5,000 points per night, which could get you an exceptionally cheap New York holiday if you were willing to commute in each morning.”

Before anyone books these expecting to spend any time in the Big Apple… Trenton is near Philadelphia, and Syracuse is 5 hours drive from New York!

  • Russ says:

Great list and booked Staybridge over 4 weekends. Am expecting a bumper sale of Heathrow hotels coming soon as the areas gone dead over the last few weeks….

    • BJ says:

With two different accounts? I thought we could only make pointbreaks reservations twice at the same hotel?

  • Liz says:

Some of the hotels we could use come up at the wrong time. We are staying in Bellingham in Washington State for 4 nights next June! Nice to see the new Indigo in Dundee on the list. Hopefully some of you will come and see our new V&A museum.

    • BJ says:

Need to watch the dates on Indigo Dundee, I’ve seen them as low as £40. However, a good deal for football weekends.
