You can get yourself £150 credit for Claridges, The Berkeley or The Connaught.

This offer has appeared on a number of American Express cards, although it is less interesting than I thought.

There are two versions.  One offers £75 off a £300 spend at Claridges, The Berkeley or The Connaught.  The second offers £150 off.

£150 Claridges discount

£150 off a £300 spend at three top London hotels sounds fantastic.  However:

You will struggle to find any room for under £600 at Claridges or The Connaught, or for under £475 at The Berkeley.  This means that, realistically, you won’t save more than 25% – 33%.

You can’t use the credit as a non-resident, eg for the restaurants.  It is only valid when settling a room bill.

To maximise the deal, you should book via Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts (for The Platinum Card holders) or, for everyone else, our hotel partner Emyr Thomas, details here.

At The Berkeley, bookings via Emyr come with:

  • Upgrade on arrival, subject to availability
  • Seasonal welcome amenity
  • Full English breakfast for up to two in-room guests per bedroom
  • £75.00 Hotel credit to be utilized during stay
  • Early check-in/late check-out, subject to availability
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi

….. so, with £150 American Express cashback on top, if you were targeted for that version, it looks a little better.  You have until 31st March to do the qualifying spend.
