Hilton is returning to the Las Vegas Strip, and in a big way.

A Conrad, a Hilton and an LXR hotel will open in Summer 2021 as part of the Resorts World Las Vegas complex.  It is on the site of the former Stardust Resort & Casino.

Resorts World is a huge $4.3bn integrated resort.  Facilities will include a 5,000-capacity state-of-the-art theatre, a 220,000-square-foot pool complex with seven unique pool experiences, spa and fitness center and ‘an extensive collection of casual and fine-dining food and beverage concepts’.

According to Business Traveller:

“Resorts World Las Vegas has been in the planning since 2013, and had originally been touted as a Chinese-themed development with attractions including a panda enclosure and replica of the Great Wall of China.”

I’m guessing that is no longer part of the plan ….

One underrated benefit of the Hilton Honors loyalty scheme is that you do not pay ‘resort fees’ on redemption nights.  This will make Resorts World substantially more attractive for anyone with a decent Hilton points balance, as ‘resort fees’ have begun to get out of control at Las Vegas – and increasingly New York – hotels.
