Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Virgin Flying Club has fixed its website ….

The Virgin Flying Club website has been down for over a week now.  The system has been totally down – even the call centre agents couldn’t access accounts or process redemptions.

I spoke to the Flying Club team over the weekend and they confirmed that it was nothing more sinister than a very messy IT failure.  We now have the first signs of life.

Virgin Flying Club working again

The Virgin Atlantic app is also working.  Here is my wife’s account, showing correctly:

AwardWallet is also able to access your account details again if you are signed up to that service.

(AwardWallet is the only miles and points tool that I use every day – and have done for a number of years.  AwardWallet allows you to store the log-in and password details for pretty much all of the loyalty programmes you are in, travel or not. You can log in to AwardWallet and it goes off and updates all of your ‘active’ balances immediately.  If you are not already a member of AwardWallet, you can sign up for free here.)

So ….. it looks like everything is returning to normal at Virgin Flying Club.  Conspiracy theorists will need to go back to discussing the moon landings or who killed JFK …….

A whole new debate opening up lol

  • Lisa de leeuw says:

lots of miles no tier points?

  • Christy marks says:

Very good news, I am particularly partial to travelling on Virgin Atlantic, though I always feel it’s a slight misnomer and rather inaccurate when travelling to any destination that doesn’t involve crossing the Atlantic. The great cabin crew and general ambience give off a really good vibe, I usually collect things on my flights and boast 8 pairs of the iconic salt and pepper pots, sadly these days they are in black plastic but still cheekily day stolen from virgin in them

    • guesswho2000 says:

Re the slight misnomer, that’ll be corrected soon, VS have spent many years culling their network to focus solely on the UK/US ;o)

  • BP says:

Can you transfer from Virgin to IHG online?

  • Dave Barron says:

Conspiracy theories remark made me laugh out loud ha ha

  • raoul says:

Glad its back! Still can’t add my flying club card to my apple wallet…. its so annoying- always says ‘unable to process your request’

  • Mark Vines says:

Is it down again or is it just me? As of today I cannot log in and I cannot reset my password.

    • Rob says:

Someone else just emailed me with the same question. No idea.

      • Mark Vines says:

Thanks. I think it was down for a while and then I managed to get in. But I still cannot register it with Amex to transfer points across. According to Amex, Virgin are still having issues so redemption is suspended temporarily. Seems like the technical issues are not yet fully resolved.
