  Two of the room categories in the LXR are listed as ‘Partial Sea View’ – whoever wrote the press release perhaps got a bit carried away describing that as ‘panoramic’!

  TBH even in a lounge famine I’d swerve the Aspire Lounge at T5. Even if I still bothered with an unlimited Priority Pass.

  I’d he happy to pay at any of Pret a Manger, Fortnum & Mason or Gordon Ramsay instead. All of which should cost me no more than about half the door rate (not that anyone should pay it) of Aspire T5.

    My last big family trip was the first in ages from London where we didn’t all qualify for the lounge, so we plumped for Gordon Ramsey. Really decent.

    4 times! 5th time due this October. It has great facilities for kids (kids club, water slides, beach) and the food is very good. I’ve been upgraded on all 4 stays so far. Would recommend.

      Oh good. I’ve a booking in September, booked last September. Will have to see how things are nearer the time but hopefully it will be safe enough to go.

  Any thoughts on when a slot waiver (or not) would be announced for the winter season (which I think starts last Sunday in October I.e. when the clocks go back) ?

  I have (supposed) 2 short hauls ex LGW in October and December and knowing if they are going to be shifted to LHR knowing sooner rather than later would be beneficial to my sanity! Would also mean I’d be asking for a refund sooner as well.

  Disappointed that there are no standard reward room offered at the LXR Bodrum if you include a child, not even any twin rooms. You only get premium reward rooms offered, and I’m not going to pay 5 x the points when one can easily share a double.

    This is quite common – you can ask the hotel to put another bed in the room or upgrade you to a family room if you have status, however this depends on availability and the hotel’s own policy on what they will and won’t do and how many people they allow to share a room.

    I always book and then email as Don says, I’ve not had a problem yet. Sometimes had an upgrade out of it.

      Has Bodrum gone up market in recent years? I visited Bodrum in my younger years, all nightclubs and thousands of young guns like Ibiza. Those were the days….
