News in brief:
Lufthansa to launch Newcastle and Bristol to Frankfurt
We’ve not had many new international route announcements to cover recently. However, Lufthansa is launching new daily flights from Newcastle and Bristol to Frankfurt.
The services will launch on 28th June.
You can find out more on the Newcastle Airport website here and the Bristol Airport website here.
New airport lounges at Teesside International
A lot of proposed airport lounge projects seem to have bitten the dust over the past year. Teesside International, however, has been ploughing on with a project which we haven’t mentioned before.
Teesside International used to have the Premium Lounge. This was rebranded the SKYLIFE Lounge which we reviewed in 2019.
Here is the current plan:
- the SKYLIFE Lounge is being refurbished and will be called the Rockliffe lounge, which is being referred to as ‘the business lounge’
- a brand new lounge, the Middleton, is being created, which is being referred to as ‘the leisure lounge’
Both lounges were due to open this month but I imagine will not now appear until May. An image of one lounge, not sure which, is above.
You can find out more on the airport website here.
