Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Which Hilton hotels can you book for just 10,000 points per night?

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

Earlier this week I took a look at hotels which are just 5,000 Hilton Honors points per night.  These are incredibly cheap redemptions – you could stay for 20 nights for the cost of just one night at the Hilton Park Lane in London – although in the main they are not in places which you would want to visit.

In truth, only a handful of these hotels are likely to be anywhere near your tourist radar.  A little more practical is the list of Category 2 Hilton Honors hotels which cost 10,000 points per night.

This list is especially interesting given that Hilton is currently offering a 100% bonus when you purchase Hilton Honors points.  This takes the cost per point down to as little as 0.5 cents, so $50 for any hotel on this list. The current bonus ends on 8th July – you can buy on this page of the Hilton website.

Hilton 10,000 points per night hotels

Hilton Honors has 65 hotels which are 10,000 points per night EVERY NIGHT.

This is substantially fewer than the 130 hotels on the list when we last ran this exercise a few years ago.  The losses are almost all in Turkey and China, with Istanbul alone losing nine hotels which were 10,000 points.  Mexico remains the sweet spot.

Remember that Hilton counts reward nights towards elite status qualification.  If you are a few nights short of requalifying, a stay at one of these properties would do the trick very cheaply.  I wrote this story a few years ago about how Will achieved Hilton Diamond status for £68 of Tesco Clubcard vouchers.

The Hampton in Krakow, click here, is probably your best European option, especially as Hampton hotels offer free breakfast as well.  We will see if we can take a look at this hotel later in the year.

All of this data comes from Hilton’s ‘Points Explorer’ tool here.  Set the slider to 10,000 points and then ignore all the hotels which don’t have a ‘maximum’ price of 10,000 points.

  • Sandgrounder says:

I stayed in the Hampton in Krakow in 2017 when it was 5k points. Hotel felt pretty new, it was a bit of a way out but checking my Uber history we spent between 10-17 Zloty per trip to the centre. It is close to some nice parks, the arena and there is a shopping centre next door. I’d say it’s still a decent deal at 10k.

  • Jim Lovejoy says:

I really enjoyed the Hanoi Hilton Garden Inn.
It had (pre-Covid) nice rooms, a very nice breakfast buffet, and a nice location just south of the French Quarter.
It also had what was described as a ‘coin operated’ laundry. In reality there are no Vietnamese coins. The cost of laundry facilities was just the cost of the detergent, and was more convenient than locating a laundry in the city.

+1 Have now stayed a few times, it represents outstanding value – always got a suite upgrade. Although a little way out of the tourist areas, Grab car is so cheap its like having your own car and driver. Lots of higher end restaurants walk-able in the embassy streets 2-3 minutes walk.

  • Erico1875 says:

Miami, Oklahoma probably gets has a few “no shows” I bet 😁

    • TC says:

It’s quite a nice small town, most visitors would head straight for the casinos, but it’s a nice alternative to heading in to Tulsa and sits on the original Route 66, so ideal for a short stopover.

  • PETERB says:

I’m currently in Thailand & these level of rates are currently market standard. The Hilton & DoubleTree Sukhumvit, Bangkok are 10,000. The Hilton Phuket is 11,000, the Millennium Hilton Bangkok is 12,000 & the Conrad Bangkok is 14,000.

    • John says:

They certainly won’t be that cheap by the time the rest of us can go to Thailand

Isn’t the Conrad raking it in as an ASQ hotel?

      • PeterB says:

The Conrad has had a complete floor sealed off for incoming quarantine (ASQ) but, at THB120,000 for 15 nights it was at the top end of the price range & very limited takers. I was there over Christmas and it was busy with local promotions but, that has quietened down of recent with a 3rd COVID wave & severe restrictions on hospitality. Thailand is supposed to be opening for vaccinated tourists with no ASQ form 01 October. From that date until Christmas Eve most nights at the Conrad are 24,000 points or THB2,555.00++.

  • Sjotterman says:

The Hilton Kuching in Borneo Indonesia is a SPECTACULAR hotel. Extraordinary location on the river and all rooms are huge with amazing views. This and Hilton Bankside London are my favourite Hilton’s in the world hand down . 10000 points is incredible value.

    • Lottie says:

Agree 100%, we stayed here a couple of years ago and thought it was fantastic value. Great river views, nice walks around and a short trip to the orangutang sanctuary . Lovely staff too.

    • tony says:

Was just going to comment about that, but for a random date in September I see rooms are just $66 anyway. Stayed there a few years back with the family in a massive 2 bedroom suite. Club lounge staff were incredibly friendly and I think it’s a great city if you ever get the chance. Probably like Singapore was 50 years ago….

    • J says:

Not sure I’d call Hilton Kuching spectacular – might be over-egging it 😉 Decent enough for the price, but I’m not sure I’d go further than that. I found it rather disappointing, particularly the lounge offering, and for me, the location is the ‘wrong end’ of town. I guess it depends on your preference, but personally I’d say there are far more interesting boutique places at the other end of the main road, up in the old town area. Each to their own of course 🙂

    • John says:

      Kuching is not in Indonesia.

      Borneo belongs to 3 countries.

      • Axel Heyst says:

There are millions of Kuchings in Indonesia.

Borneo is the old colonial word, taken from Brunei. It’s called Kalimantan in Bahasa Indonesia

  • KBuffett says:

Slight off topic, but Hilton Park Lane is drab. It really needs a full refurb.

    • IanM says:

Also a bit misleading to have that picture headlining this story!

    • TGLoyalty says:

It was meant to be! It was going to lose rooms to be turned into apartments and the full refurb of the hotel rooms plus a new ground floor / basement set up.

      No idea what’s happened

    • Rob says:

Owners have applied for permission to turn it mainly into flats and add a few floors on top so don’t hold your breath.

      • KBuffett says:

        Who are the owners?

        • Rob says:

London & Regional, owned by the Livingstone brothers who also, oddly, own David Clulow opticians! They own Chewton Glen and Cliveden now too although that may be in a semi-private capacity.

  • Paul says:

Stayed at Pyramids golf 2 years ago. Great pool, fabulous upgrade with (distant) view of pyramids. Very friendly staff bit far from airport due traffic but a good family choice for Cairo and convenient for new museum

    • Benilyn says:

Not far from Giza & away from traffic so not a bad location, did one night here. Also Heliopolis near the airport was our other hotel.

    • ankomonkey says:

Agree – this hotel was nice. Would be more than happy to go back, especially at 10k HH. Upgraded with exec lounge access as HH Gold.

  • Colin MacKinnon says:

So if we have to go to Mexico for a fortnight to meet up with USA family before then travelling to USA, what would be the best Mexican Hilton to use our “Virgin” points on?

    • Travel Strong says:

There’s obviously a lot of choice, it’s a big place … but I personally would be targeting Cancun or further down that coast, playa del carmen etc. And I would be looking for points pricing that allow me to get 5 nights for 4 at all inclusive resorts. All points, no resort fees, food and drink included – sounds great!
This option obviously costs much more in points than booking the 10k – 30k per night options, of which there are plenty… but you’d get the full cancun resort experience rather than a standard hotel room.
