Some very, very low business class fares to Hawaii – and indeed the United States West Coast – have appeared today from Paris.

This is a very quick article so you will have to do a bit of digging yourself if you want to take advantage (I am on holiday, in theory), but here is an example from Paris to Honolulu for January 2022.

EDIT: As at 10.30pm, the deal appears to be almost dead, at least to Hawaii. It seems that it will work if you can get ba.com to show a routing via Helsinki, eg Paris – Helsinki – USA.

Here is an example from ba.com, where you can book this deal even if it doesn’t have a British Airways flight anywhere:

This is €1,131, so £970. Can’t say fairer than that ….

In terms of tier points, it would earn:

  • CDG-LHR – 40 tier points
  • LHR-LAX – 140 tier points
  • HNL-LAX – 140 tier points
  • LAX-SEA – 140 tier points
  • SEA-LHR – 140 tier points
  • LHR-CDG – 40 tier points

That’s a total of 640 tier points for £970, plus a holiday in Hawaii.

The ‘dream deal’ would be finding a way to book it as Paris – London – New York – West Coast – Hawaii. This would earn 920 tier points because you would have three business class flights of 2,000+ miles in each direction.

Check carefully that ALL flights book into Business Class.

      If you’re booking on ba.com, you might as well you any BAPP Amex as it is 3 Avios per £1 spent – otherwise use any 0% card you have. If neither of those apply, Amex Gold is double points when you book a flight on an airline website (not Expedia etc).

    Looks like BA just sacked the intern and pulled their routings…
    e.g.
    CDG-LHR-LAX-HNL//HNL-SEA-LHR-CDG just jumped from 1131 euros pp to 7746 euros across all dates
    Well done to those who jumped in with both feet earlier.

        There’s a bunch of decent hotels a short ride away on the VAL people mover, by the metro and bus station. IIRC only one hotel in T2 (Sheraton) and it’s pretty pricey, so just plan on 5 minutes on the shuttle to the others!

    Never been to Hawaii, can anyone recommend a hotel in Honolulu? Hilton, Marriot and IHG top tier status. Very points rich for HH and IHG so considering a redemption though it looks like IHG only has a HIX

      Embassy Suites Waikiki – spacious, clean, well located. Unfortunately they now charge a resort fee but you do get an evening drink and a cooked breakfast.

      Hilton Hawaiian Village is good too, can be over run with kids, rooms are very hit and miss. Steep resort fee and no special treatment unless you are Diamond.

    I had a look at the detailed fare rules filed. It appears effective date is EF-04JUN21 so the fare *may* come back at midnight.
