Save £200 at selected Four Seasons hotels with American Express

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

For the first time ever, as far as I know, the ultra-luxurious Four Seasons hotel chain has launched a cashback offer with American Express.

The offer appeared on Wednesday evening but apparently suffered an IT issue and couldn’t be saved. American Express then seems to have withdrawn it. I am hoping it is back by the time you read this – if not, hopefully it will re-emerge in a day or so.

You need to look under the ‘Offers’ tab on the statement page of the Amex website, or in the Amex app, for each American Express card you hold. If the offer is there, you need to click ‘Save to Card’ to activate it.

You will receive £200 cashback when you spend £1,000 at selected Four Seasons hotels.

The participating hotels are:

  • Four Seasons Hotel London At Park Lane
  • Four Seasons Hotel London At Ten Trinity Square
  • Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire
  • Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris
  • Grand-Hôtel Du Cap-Ferrat
  • Four Seasons Hotel Megeve
  • Four Seasons Hotel Madrid
  • Four Seasons Hotel Des Bergues Geneva

I don’t have the closing date unfortunately.

If you are based in or around London, you probably know that Four Seasons Hampshire is – by a large margin – the best upmarket weekend break option for a family.

We have been visiting since before we had children, so for 15 years now, and have probably done around 75 nights over the years. The recent addition of a kids pool made it even better for young children and has relieved some of the pressure on the main pool.

If you are booking a Four Seasons hotel to take advantage of this deal, you should book via our luxury hotel booking partner Emyr Thomas at Bon Vivant.

As a Four Seasons Preferred Partner, your booking will usually come with:

  • free breakfast (this is a big saving at Four Seasons)
  • room upgrade if available at check-in
  • a hotel credit (usually $100 or equivalent, may be restricted to certain services)

….. and some other bits and pieces depending on property.

Importantly, Emyr can usually get these benefits on ANY rate showing on the Four Seasons website, so you are virtually certain to get a better deal by using him. The small print of the Amex offer is likely to require you to book a ‘pay at check-out’ rate.

You can contact Emyr via the form on this page of HfP.

Miles From Blighty reporting that airline transfers will stop on 31 December.

    • kitten says:

history is that date rolls over a year at a time each year

      • Rob says:

It did last year. I think their weird new website has a field for each offer marked ‘closing date’ and no way of hiding that field if the offer is permanent.

    • Save East Coast Rewards says:

It’s either the date that their contract with the airlines expire or it’s a field that they need to complete on the website that’s not hideable (without paying some consultant £5000 for what’s really a few minutes work) but that expiry date is on the site every year and rolls over!

Just in case your airline doesn’t participate the following year you might want to transfer the points before that date but in reality this hasn’t changed for years.

  • DMW says:

If you have Amex Plat and Amex Marriott, do the benefits stack in any way to get you closer to Marriott platinum elite? Thanks

    • Rob says:

      No

      • DMW says:

Thanks for a speedy reply Rob!

        • meta says:

Unless of course Marriott gives you 50% of elite nights like they did last year. So you get 28 elite nights as Gold via Plat and 13 nights directly from Marriott and only need to do 22 nights. They probably won’t repeat that next, but you never know.

          • Harry T says:

Don’t think it’ll happen again next year. The US is their main market and the only market they really use to guide their promotions and elite strategy.

  • MD says:

Four Seasons not on any of my 8 cards yet. Fingers crossed it will appear later then.

  • Kipto says:

Does anybody know how to change a third party nominee’s password on a BA account ? I have nominee access on my wife’s account and I have forgotten my password. On BA’s site it only gives the option to edit or remove ? Do I have to be removed and then added as a new nominee ? Can’t get through to BA.

  • Graham says:

The Gold Elite status offer on the AmEx Marriott doesn’t kick-in until 15 October this year. It’s Silver until then. I’m not sure how clear that has been made, and it’s buried in the small print. I’m not complaining though, as a Marriott newbie!

    • Neil says:

      Thanks,Graham.
I have just received a Silver card and thought I had done something wrong.
I didn’t realise the Gold didn’t start until 15 October.
That is really useful to know.
