American Express / Laithwaites 30% cashback deal ends soon

If you are looking to stock up on champagne, there is an opportunity at the moment to buy branded drinks from Laithwaites at a good discount.

Many American Express cards feature an offer from wine merchant Laithwaites. Their home page is here.

You will receive 30% cashback when you spend £120+ online by 7th July – so time is running out.

If you see this offer on the online statement page for any of your cards, or in the Amex app, remember to click ‘Save to Card’ to activate it.

Opinion varies about the quality of the wine sold by Laithwaites, which is virtually all under ‘house’ labels. This makes it difficult to compare pricing. However, it does stock a range of branded champagnes, beers and spirits. Some of these are already reduced before factoring in the Amex cashback.

When we last covered this offer, there was an excellent deal available on Bollinger. This has now ended. The only current discounts are:

• Champagne Charles Heidsieck Rosé Réserve – reduced from £49.99 to £44.99

• Champagne Charles Heidsieck Blanc de Blancs – reduced from £65 to £58.99

• Champagne Charles Heidsieck Brut Réserve – reduced from £45 to £39.99

The Amex cashback would reduce these prices by a further 30% if you spent £120. The delivery charge will send you over £120 with two bottles of the Blanc de Blancs or three bottles of the Brut Réserve.

Many other brands are also reduced if you buy a case. 12 bottles of Champagne Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé Brut are reduced to £588 which the 30% cashback takes down to £412. This is under £35 per bottle which is exceptionally cheap for this brand.
