Get triple Club Eurostar points – worth a 30% rebate

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

Club Eurostar doesn’t run many promotions, so it was surprising to see them come out with a very impressive offer yesterday.

As it happens, I am in the middle of a Eurostar trip as I write. You’ll be seeing some lounge reviews on HfP over the next few days.

Our overview of Club Eurostar is here.

Club Eurostar triple points

All you need to know is:

  • you earn 1 point per £1 spent
  • there are NO availability restrictions – if a seat is there for cash, you can book it, or upgrade into it, for points

Here’s the new deal.

For all trips booked between 21st September and 5th October, for travel up to 21st March 2022, you will receive:

  • double points for Standard and
  • triple points for Standard Premier

This means that, based on points being worth around 10p, you are getting points worth 20% of what you paid in Standard and an impressive 30% of what you paid in Standard Premier.

Annoyingly I can’t find details of the offer online so you need to trust us. No registration is required.

Remember that, if you have American Express Platinum, you get free access to Eurostar lounges. No guests are allowed but obviously your Platinum supplementary cardholder can come with you.

How to get Club Eurostar points and lounge access from UK credit cards (April 2024)

Club Eurostar does not have a UK credit card.  However, you can earn Club Eurostar points by converting Membership Rewards points earned from selected UK American Express cards

Cards earning Membership Rewards points include:

Membership Rewards points convert at 15:1 into Club Eurostar points.  The cards above all earn 1 Membership Rewards point per £1 spent on your card, so you will get the equivalent of 1 Club Eurostar point for every £15 you spend.

American Express Platinum comes with a great Eurostar benefit – Eurostar lounge access!

You can enter any Eurostar lounge, irrespective of your ticket type, simply by showing The Platinum Card at the desk.  No guests are allowed but you can get entry for your partner by issuing them with a free supplementary Amex Platinum card on your account.

  • Christian Kemp says:

I already have the proper Deliveroo Plus, which has a minimum order of £10 usually.

I also have Amazon Prime, is there any way I can get any value out of the free deliveroo offer, or is my only option to donate it to charity as explained in the article above?

    • Rob says:

Unless you have Amex Gold you don’t get anything out of this.

If you DO have Amex Gold then you get £5 off each Deliveroo order, up to two per month.

      • Christian says:

Oh I think I have got this confused. Ive got Amex Plat and Amazon Prime. I was asking if I can get any value out of the free Deliveroo Plus, when I already pay £6.99 for the full Deliveroo Plus?

        • Rob says:

That would depend on whether your orders are £25+ or £10+, surely?

        • Rui N. says:

This Amazon deal is “full” deliveroo plus as well, it’s simply a different tier aimed at people that order more each time.

    • Susan says:

If you already have Deliveroo Plus you can still opt in to the Prime offer and get it for free (with the increased min. delivery) . After 12 months you will revert to the membership level you currently have.

  • lumma says:

I find the best way to save money on takeaways and deliveries is to pick up your phone and call the takeaway and steer clear of delivery apps.

  • John Murray says:

Does anyone know if the Eurostar triple points promo still works when paying with an e-voucher from a previously cancelled journey?

    • tintin38 says:

I would guess yes since an e-voucher is just a different payment method. The key thing here seems to be the booking period.
Not sure what happens to already booked trips (before the promo) that are reticketed due to date/time changes within the booking period?

      • Rich says:

Certainly worth doing it if the fare is currently the same.

No change fees atm, just pay fare difference. You’d need to move to a different train though.

    • Lady London says:

Be careful. This is just the sort of thing Eurostar would say later isn’t valid for the offer.

  • Will T says:

Does anyone know if Eurostar will bring back the London – Marseilles route with no changes? I’m holding off spending my Eurostar points in the hope it comes back!

    • Rich says:

They’ve pretty much said no for the next year. They’re going to focus on the core routes.

The ski train is operating this winter, but as a charter for Compagnie des Alpes, so it’s not really a Eurostar service. I’d be very surprised if Marseilles operates next summer.

It is a good value redemption though!

  • Rich says:

Worth noting that you have to opt into the Deliveroo credit on Amex. It’s not automatic.

They’re not particularly clear on this, I only noticed a link to the offer after I’d been using the card for a few days. Predictably the link didn’t work, and just took me to my list of offers.

CS added it, but they don’t seem keen to credit me for a transaction a couple of days ago. I don’t know if I can be bothered to fight them.

  • Mark B says:

Am not seeing the Eurostar offer on the web site. Can anyone point to it please?

    • Rob says:

It’s not on the website. If you are opted out of Eurostar marketing emails you need to take it on trust. It doesn’t say anywhere in the email that it is targeted – but of course there is a risk.
