The Village is easily accessible by car via the M40 and offers ample free parking. It also has its own train station, Bicester Village Station, which is a direct trip from London Marylebone and takes just 46 minutes. Alternatively, Oxford is just a 14 minute train journey away.

You can shop in the Private Sale virtually

If you can’t make it to Bicester Village during the Private Sale, you can still enjoy the same savings when shopping virtually.

You’ll need to let the boutique adviser know you’d like to redeem your Private Sale offer, then send them a screenshot of your membership QR code to apply your saving.

Earning Avios at Bicester Village

British Airways Executive Club members can earn Avios all year round when shopping at Bicester Village. The earning rate at Bicester Village is 5 Avios per £4 spent. This includes food and drink spending on site.

You do not need to claim your miles in each individual store you visit.  Instead, simply hold on to your receipts until the end of your shopping trip.

Once you’re done shopping for the day, go to the Village Welcome or Tourist Information Centre and present your Executive Club card, or proof of membership, plus shopping receipts to collect your Avios.

Alternatively, you can use the new e-redemption service. You can email a copy of your receipts to Bicester Village and they will ensure that your Avios are credited to your account. You can find out more on their website here.

If you have a platinum Amex you also get valet parking, hands free shopping and a 10% VIP pass. You just email your registration and the date of your visit.

    • Rob says:

In my experience they can do the VIP pass (at least the one that HSBC World Elite gives) on arrival – only valet parking requires pre booking.

  • cinereus says:

Bicester village is hell on earth.

    • James says:

Am sure it’s far better with the lack of international travel currently.

    • NunoBettencourtsPinky says:

      Cheer up dude.

    • Rob says:

I’ve been a couple of times in the last year, always arriving at 10am on a midweek day (take the kids to school, pop over to Marylebone, jump on a train around 9am) and it is dead.

      • flyforfun says:

You are very fortunate Rob that you can do that. Weekends is when most can go. The last time I went pre pandemic, we got there at 9.30 and the closest car park had almost filled up. We opted to have lunch at 10.30 because we knew from prior experience that trying to eat 11.30 to 2.30 was virtually impossible if you wanted a seat. We had a coffee and cake at 3ish before the drive home. An ex manager of mine lived there and said to avoid it if possible.
Now outlets seem to be opening everywhere. The one at the 02 Dome is small but far more civilised – and closer to home.

    • Andrew says:

It all depends on how you manage your lifestyle choices.

If you go on a weekend or school holiday, it’s always busier. Pop in on a weekday it’s much quieter.

  • KP says:

Rob – Maybe a good place to mention the extra benefits with Platinum? (As I’d like to know!)

  • Matt says:

They haven’t allowed points to be earnt on site for over 2 years. Stone cold refuse to do so at the tourist information. Must be done by email only.

    • Rob says:

      No, it’s back now.

      • Matt says:

Ahh policy reversal, thanks for confirming.

      • Daniel says:

Hi Rob, do you know if they credit Avios for cash payments? Thank you

        • Rob says:

No idea but it would be weird if not – I imagine lots of tourists pull out wads of notes.

          • SamG says:

Yes I was behind a BV shop depositing cash at the post office a while back, never seen so many £50 notes in one place before!!

I’m in Bicester most weekends and it never looks too bad these days vs how it used to be in years gone by

  • Jen says:

I went about two weeks ago but staff at front desk was rather picky about it and didn’t seem to know what they were doing. I haven’t received my avios yet but hoping it went through. They also refused to credit the avios if the payment card is not in your name. Which was rather annoying because I paid partially for a friend’s item as a gift to her but she wasn’t allowed to claim the avios.

  • Andrew. says:

There’s also Bicester Village rebates on Airtime, and they are forever appearing on my various LBG, Virgin and Barclaycard rebate schemes. Sometimes turn up on PAW too.

    • Cranzle says:

Takings are down significantly since the withdrawal of Tax Free Shopping.

  • Graham Walsh says:

I went yesterday and booked the parking in the morning for a 2pm arrival. They did say give them 24hrs notice but it wasn’t packed in the reserved parking.

They were offering 20% off (as I spent over £250) and when I showed my Amex 10% code they said they couldn’t do both.

Emailed the receipt and copy of credit card to claim Avios.

Went there about years ago and haven’t been since. Won’t be rushing back as I don’t buy designer or expensive clothes anymore, but went to see if I could get a suit for my wedding, which I did.

  • Edwin says:

“It is home to LEADING BRANDS including Boss Hugo Boss, Cosmetics Company Store, Mulberry, Ted Baker and many more.”

I am seriously wondering if you were hired by the competitors of Bicester Village?

    • Rob says:

Some brands don’t like publicising themselves at Bicester, we’ve had our wrists slapped before. I got a hugely reduced Loro Piana jacket last time I was there.
