News in brief:

Get 4,375 Avios with Sainsbury’s Bank pet insurance

Some users of the Nectar app are getting a targetted offer of 7,000 Nectar points for taking out pet insurance.

7,000 Nectar points converts, of course, into 4,375 Avios.

Policies are relatively cheap if you only have something small like a rabbit – under £10 per month. The points are promised after 60 days, although with previous pet insurance offers they have posted more quickly. You can cancel your policy at any time without penalty

As an extra benefit, you will earn double Nectar base points on all of your Sainsbury’s shopping for as long as you keep your policy.

The Sainsbury’s Bank pet insurance home page is here. You need to use code PET4AP when getting a quote, although you will only receive the 7,000 Nectar points if the offer is showing in your Nectar app. No closing date is given for the offer.

Thanks to Nick for this.

  • Richie says:

The important Sainsbury’s Pet Insurance bit is “…7,000 points (worth £35) will be added to your Nectar account within 60 days of your policy start date, unless your policy is cancelled during this period….” So do you have to hold the policy for 61 days to get the points?

  • jeff77 says:

Some of those policies are very expensive! Must be cheaper in some cases to buy a new pet!

  • yorkshireRich says:

Wonder if BAH are going to start some sort of “sale” soon. I have noticed a steep increase in price over the last few days on some of the hotels we were looking in June.

  • Munch says:

What’s the sweetspot on the pet insurance? Lowest policy I can find is £7.69 (may depend on location).

  • Philip says:

My fluffy little bunny is being quoted at £9.34 a month. Thanks for the info.

  • Lee says:

For the first time I am actually looking for a genuine pet insurance. Tesco pet is quoted a lot cheaper than Sainsbury with 6030 avios from voldemort site

  • patrick says:

How are you earning avios with Tesco please?

  • TimM says:

I was quoted £8.27 pcm for a pedigree 4 year old dog. She will have the benefit of insurance until the points arrive then will again have to rely upon us. I believe in self-insurance – it cuts out loads of ‘middle people’.
