Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Spend £10 at Amazon on your Barclaycard and get £10 back

Amazon has launched a special promotion for Barclaycard holders – which presumably now includes holders of the new Barclaycard Avios Mastercard cards.

It’s a simple deal. Spend £10 on your Barclaycard credit card at Amazon between yesterday and 30th September and you will receive a £10 Amazon promotional credit.

Full details are on this page of the Amazon website. The rules imply that you must start your shopping via the ‘Shop Now’ button on that page.

Amazon £10 Barclaycard offer

The rules appear simple enough. You have until 30th September to make your qualifying purchase on amazon.co.uk and until 30th October to use your £10 Amazon promotional credit.

There is no minimum spend required to use the £10 credit but it can only be used for products sold directly by Amazon and not third party sellers. Gift vouchers etc are also excluded.

The rules for qualifying Barclaycards are:

“An eligible Barclaycard is a personal Barclaycard with a billing address in the United Kingdom (excluding the Channel Islands and Isle of Man). Barclaycard Business card and Corporate Barclaycard are not eligible Barclaycard for this promotion.”

The only slightly confusing line is:

“Customers must land on the Barclaycard promotional landing page prior to making a qualifying purchase.”

There could be some hidden small print in this offer, of course. However, it costs you nothing to ensure that you use your Barclaycard Avios Mastercard on your next Amazon purchase of £10+.

I have no idea what happens if you use one of the old Hilton Honors credit cards ….. (EDIT: the comments say that it is working OK).

The offer landing page is here.

How do you know if you have the offer? Can you only see the banner in Barclays Internet Banking (desktop site) or can you view it in Mobile Banking?

    • Rob says:

No idea. I assume you’ll be spending £10 on Amazon anyway by September so just swap your card over and see what happens. Nothing lost.

    • Rui N. says:

These Amazon promos usually let you know right away if you are not eligible. If you click on the link on the post and it doesn’t say something like “We are sorry, but you are not eligible for this promotion at this time”, you are likely eligible. But again, just use you Barclaycard for a purchase a little over £10 that you’d be making anyway. If you are eligible great, if not, better luck next time.

I see the banner in my Amazon app, not the Barclaycard app.

  • Rob says:

    Er, yes it is.

  • DevonDiamond says:

I can see it in the Amazon app and I have a Hilton Barclaycard so assume I’m good to get the credit

  • mark2 says:

Just remember that it only applies to products which are actually sold by Amazon not just fulfilled.

    • Richmond_Surrey says:

When redeeming, not when buying initial product. I bought product fulfilled by Amazon and got voucher.

  • Lumma says:

I’ve also got an offer on my Tesco Credit Card for 1,000 Clubcard points when setting it as my default payment method on Amazon. It gives 250 points for each of the next four purchases but the T&Cs are vague.

Has anyone else had this? Is there a minimum spend for each transaction? Does it have to be sold by Amazon products? Or can I just buy 4 lots of strawberry laces for 50p each?

    • G says:

I got that offer and another one on Tesco Clubcard Pay+ that was top up any amount and get 1,000 points. Should be an easy 2k points.

For the credit card offer I didn’t see a minimum spend mentioned in the Ts and Cs but didn’t take the piss and just did some small £5-£10 transactions for lunches and the like. Was thinking of doing some small amazon top ups but had enough balance anyway and once set to default on Apple Pay it was easy enough to hit.

  • Jbc says:

I used the Hilton Barclaycard and can confirm I got the £10 credit.

  • patrick says:

Ordered with Prime and HH card three hours ago, received dispatch email and £10 credit just now.

  • Jim Cargill says:

I also used my Hilton Honors ‘Powered by Barclaycard’ and got the £10 credit.
