We are delighted to tell you that Head for Points turns 10 this month.

Rob started Head for Points as a hobby way back in 2012 after his career in the City. Since then it has grown into a ‘proper’ business – we should hit 25 million page views this year – thanks to your loyalty, support and interest.

None of our success would have been possible without you, our readers, and we want to invite you to celebrate this huge milestone with us.

Head for Points summer party bar

We will be throwing one of our famous reader parties on Tuesday 21st June. We hope you can make it.

Save the date: Tuesday 21st June

The party will take place at the Renaissance St Pancras hotel from 6pm to roughly 9pm and there will be 500 tickets available.

The Renaissance St Pancras balcony

Tickets will be £10 and your first drink, food (canapes and cupcakes) and a potentially very valuable raffle ticket are all included. There will be a cash bar for additional drinks.

As anyone who attended our 2019 Summer Party will attest, the Renaissance is a great venue for a summer celebration. There is a balcony area if the weather is fine and a beautiful indoor space if it’s not.

We will be releasing tickets in the next week. Keep an eye on the site or your emails for full details of when the tickets go on sale.

This party has become a reality because of the support of our sponsor Barclaycard. As you have probably heard by now, Barclaycard launched two new Avios-earning credit cards this Spring. They will be providing cupcakes and canapés for everyone on the night – you won’t go hungry – so a big thank you to all the team over at Barclaycard.

We will also hold our customary raffle on the night, with a VERY impressive top prize. Details will be revealed when tickets go on sale!

Information on how you can get a ticket will be published very soon, and we still have lots more details to reveal, but please mark Tuesday 21st June in your diary now. See you there!

Congratulations on a successful decade, especially surviving the COVID-19 induced industry downturn!

It’s always a leap into the unknown starting something new and getting it to ten is great!

  • Lady London says:

Cupcakes and canapés? Nice, but chance would be a fine thing! I have never, ever, got near to getting a dessert at any of the 3 HfP parties I’ve attended. I’m not sure what the secret is to getting any food on offer.

    • Rob says:

Historically we put the cakes out at the end. This will be different, with people bringing around food to you (not you having to pick it off a table) for the entire evening.

    • Polly says:

Lady London, remember tracking some down for a very pregnant starving Annika that year.. and LL we actually shared one last party, the dregs l think…and Julian! Joined in. Where is he lately?

  • TimM says:

When will the party be held in Manchester, Leeds or Newcastle?

    • Rhys says:

When we can expect 500 people to attend in Manchester, Leeds or Newcastle!

      • qrfan says:

“It turns out that our readership is a little less London-centric than we thought. Just over 50% of readers live in London and the home counties (32% put London). There are definite gaps though – only 60 out of 10,000 responders lived in Norfolk and only 84 in Somerset, for example.” I thiink you would fill 500 spaces in Manchester if only with Londoners commuting up. You might struggle in Norwich though.

        • Speedbird676 says:

We could charter a jet 🙂

          • qrfan says:

The real H4P thing to do would be to redeem some virgin miles on a KLM redemption of LCY -> AMS -> NWI. We could probably fill AMS NWI and have a party in the sky on the way…

When they know they’ll sell 500 tickets in London, “I think you would” outside London doesn’t quite cut it

    • JohnG says:

Congratulations Rob on creating such a great site, and kudos to the team that have helped. I’ve enjoyed your content immensely over the years, and I owe you a great deal of thanks for the tips, deals, and guides that have been enormously helpful!

  • Stephan says:

I know that Barclaycard had a poor start but I do like their app. The spending by category is great visualisation tool. Can watch as my regular tank refills increases as % monthly spend 😅

  • Ronster says:

    Dear Rob

Congratulations on your up coming tenth anniversary.

Looking forward to seeing you and the team.

    Kind regards

  • Gordon says:

Sadly I’ll be in Bali…. It’s been a struggle to get there but finally success 😊. Well done HFP team. Hope all goes well.I’m guessing the raffle winner gets to hand Sean Doyle his notice….

  • RoundTheWorld says:

Do we need to wear a face mask at the party?

  • krys_k says:

First thing I read every morning is HFP. Cheers Rob and team !!
