  You could ask BA to reverse the non credit and then retro claim from EI – “I foolishly put the wrong FF number in the booking”

    Usually, you can just retro-claim with your desired program whenever no miles whatsoever were earned with the program whose number you provided originally.

    There is nothing to be reversed, after all

      Not true, now it may be different here as it’s all IAG, but sometimes the flown airline will pay the credited FFP something for the flight, even if the crediting airline chooses to award 0 miles

      Even a flight where no avios / TPs are earned will post in your BAEC account if your number is part of the booking.

      If you just tried a claim with EI their system will flag that the flight was recorded to BA as their system will have a record of it.

      A couple of years ago I had a flight with KLM which I wanted to credit to Delta, as their miles do not expire. Had the same issue of the flight being in an obscure class which earned nothing on Delta, but I was able to go back to KLM and get something fairly useless like 450 miles off them.

  I always check the earnings rate on wheretocredit.com when flying on partner airlines to work out the best program to credit a flight to. Only 4 airlines give credit for D class flights on Aer Lingus – Aer Lingus, Alaska, United and BA. Only 3 give credit for P class – BA is the dropout here as you now know.

  Qantas is my main program (unfortunately) but wheretocredit.com has prevented me from making the mistake of crediting a flight on for example Malaysian to Qantas where it would earn nothing and instead prompting me to credit it to American or Qatar where it earnt 150% RDM.

  I don’t know if this website is 100% accurate but it presents the information in an easily understood format whereas airlines like BA and Qantas are masters of obfuscation.

  Don’t take this lying down Rob! I’m a Star Alliance flyer, but whenever similar things have happened to me, the “correct” FF programme (M&M) was happy to credit flights that earn nothing on Austrian with the “wrong” programme (Turkish M&S). Surely Aer Lingus, of all people, would know where their own flights can be credited? Just ask them nicely 😉

  FYI, the general admission tickets for the BMW PGA are £45 each, so getting 2 tickets for £50 worth of HH points is a steal (if you like golf anyway!)

  Do you get TPs for Aer Lingus flights? Their services from MAN to NYC are quite reasonably priced, might start using them once we’ve burned through the rest of our 241s.

  For those who have purchased the VIP (Hospitality) tickets for the BMW PGA, have you heard from Hilton yet re. any further information. Also, curious if a HFP reader was one of the successful bidders for the Pro-am Group’s? They went for 1.2M, more than double the winning bids in previous years.

    Circa £4k of hotel stays. If I’d earned them for nothing as a road warrior I’d still call that fairly good value for a once in a lifetime experience on a top course. You’d have to be either an exceptionally good golfer or prepared to shoot an eye watering score though if the green speeds & pin positions are setup for tour pros though!

        imo 500k per previous years is good value (value is always subjective of course), 1.2M is just a product of this Summer. Will be interesting to see what it goes for next year.
