World of Hyatt launches its new Autumn bonus points promotion

Hyatt has brought back its Bonus Journeys promotion for the Autumn.

It runs from 15th September to 20th December, and is a very simple one – you will earn double points on all stays of 2+ nights.
You must register by 15th November.
On the face of it, this is decent:
- You earn 5 Hyatt points per $1 spent ….
- …. which is 6.0 points per £1
- Double points would mean 12 points per £1 ….
- …. which at our valuation of 1.1p per point is a 13% rebate on your ex-VAT spend
As well as Hyatt-branded hotels, it is also valid at participating M life Rewards destinations, Small Luxury Hotels of the World hotels and Lindblad Expeditions.
It is VERY hard to earn World of Hyatt points in the UK apart from hotel stays, although you can often buy them at a decent rate when a bonus promotion is running. The scheme is not an American Express Membership Rewards partner.
You can transfer your World of Hyatt points to Avios (5,000 Hyatt points convert to 1,250 Avios – increments of 1,250 Hyatt points are needed after that) but clearly this promotion is less useful if you don’t already have an active Hyatt account.
Earn double elite night credits at ‘all inclusive’ resorts
There is a second string to this offer. Hyatt is also offering double elite night credits at 65 of the ‘all inclusive’ resorts it recently acquired via its purchase of AMR Resorts.
I have not focused on this as most are in North America and are unlikely to be on your hit list. You can find out more on the Hyatt site if you are interested.
