Hilton Honors has just launched its new Autumn promotion which is now open for registration.

The promotion is called ‘Double Your Stay’.

It is a twist on the usual Hilton offer. The chain usually offers either double points (good for expensive stays) or 2,000 bonus points (good for short cheap stays). This time, it is offering both!

Hilton Honors Double Your Stay promotion

You will earn DOUBLE Hilton Honors base points for every stay between 6th September and 31st December.

Check out on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday and you’ll receive an extra 2,000 Hilton Honors points on top.

There is NO ‘starting with your second stay’ rule.  You get bonus points from your first stay during the promotional period.

For most brands, you will earn 10 base points per $1 spent, plus an additional 10 or 20 promotional points plus any status bonus.

Given that I value a Hilton Honors point at around 0.33p, you are getting a good return on your spending here.  20 points per $1 is an 8.5% rebate and that is before you add in any status bonus. A Diamond would be getting 12.8% back.

The extra 2,000 bonus points, assuming you check out on a midweek day, are worth an extra £6.66 in our book. This could add anything from 10% to 1% to the value of your bonus, depeding on what you spend.

The offer is refreshingly free of small print

There is not much small print except that you need to register in advance via the Hilton website here

This new offer starts immediately after the current offer ends on 5th September so you can be sure of a bonus on every Hilton stay between now and the year end.

Apart from that, all is good:

  • There is no minimum stay requirement
  • Existing bookings still count
  • All Hilton Family properties (Hilton, Hampton, Curio, Waldorf-Astoria, Conrad etc) are taking part – there is no list of non-participating hotels
  • Reward bookings count, which means you’ll get a guaranteed 2,000 points per stay rebate, even if you have £0 incidental spend, if you check out on a weekday

Remember that the Home2 Suites and Tru brands earn a lower 5 base points per $1. Our full review of Hilton Honors is here.

Hilton’s new ‘Double Your Stay’ promotion is a decent offer with something for everyone. All guests receive double points whilst those checking out during the week receive an extra 2,000 points on top.

The real winners are those doing cheap one-night Hampton Inn stays midweek, when you could be looking at a return of almost 20%. Anyone spending a large sum on a longer stay won’t be complaining about double points either.

You should make sure you register if you have any Hilton stays coming up over the next four months. Even if you don’t have any stays planned, it is worth registering just in case – a lot can happen between now and 31st December.

Let’s see if any new American Express / Hilton cashback offers come along which can be stacked with this.

You can sign up for ‘Double Your Stay’ here.

PS. If you have any Hilton stays before this new offer starts on 6th September, you haven’t missed out. You can register for the current 2x / 3x bonus offer by clicking here.

Just the thought of fiddling around on Hilton’s website is enough to put me off the offer, it’s so horrible. And the hotels I could have needed are being quoted for stupid prices, like €500. I think this is why I don’t push much business Hilton’s way, as well as the fact they never have hotels in the places I need to go.

OT but I am seeing a 24K referral bonus on my Amex PLT

I have a Gold charge card that I never want to lose or tamper with. Am I best off opening a new Gold credit then upgrading it to Platinum credit? I didn’t know they allow holding both Gold charge and credit – can someone please confirm?

I’ve got a 3 night stay (Tuesday – Friday) at HGI Sunderland (reward stay). Done the numbers and it’s not worth the hassle of checking in somewhere else on the Wednesday night for an extra 4K points
