As part of Marriott’s ‘Week of Wonders’, ‘Homes & Villas by Marriott International’ has launched a very interesting double points AND DOUBLE ELITE NIGHTS promotion.
The standard Bonvoy earning rate with Homes & Villas is 5 points per $1. This is doubled to 10 points per $1 for all stays booked for dates up to 28th February 2023.
More interesting, however, is the chance to push towards Bonvoy elite status for 2023 more quickly by picking up double elite night credits too.
If that wasn’t enough, many of you will also have an American Express cashback offer for £150 off a £500 purchase at ‘Homes & Villas by Marriott International’ before the end of November.
You can find out more on the ‘Homes & Villas’ website here.
How does the offer work?
To earn double Marriott Bonvoy points and double elite nights, your booking needs to meet the following criteria:
- you must book by 15th October 2022 via this site
- you must stay by 30th April 2023
- you must book for 5+ nights
- your booking must be made purely for cash, not with Marriott Bonvoy points or with a mix of cash and points
How many points do I earn with a ‘Homes & Villas’ rental?
When you make a Homes & Villas rental, you earn points based on your total spend less booking fees, taxes, cleaning fees and extra add-ons.
The base rate is 5 Marriott Bonvoy points per $1 spent.
Elite members of Marriott Bonvoy will earn a status bonus:
- Silver Elite: 5 base points per eligible dollar plus 10% bonus
- Gold Elite: 5 base points per eligible dollar plus 25% bonus
- Platinum Elite: 5 base points per eligible dollar plus 50% bonus
- Titanium Elite: 5 base points per eligible dollar plus 75% bonus
- Ambassador: 5 base points per eligible dollar plus 75% bonus
…. and Gold and above receive additional points as a welcome gift:
- Ambassador Elite, Titanium Elite, Platinum Elite: 1,000 points
- Gold Elite: 500 points
Earn double elite night credits too
Each night you book counts towards elite status with Marriott Bonvoy.
As with a hotel stay, you earn one elite night credit for every night you stay.
Under the current promotion, however, you will receive double elite night credits – two per night.
If you are a little short of where you need to be to requalify for Marriott Bonvoy status in 2023, a home or villa rental could be just the thing. As this offer is valid for stays until 30th April 2023, you could also use it to give yourself a head start on requalification for 2024.
There is one quirk – elite night credits earned via ‘Homes & Villas’ do not count towards lifetime Marriott Bonvoy status.

These offers stacks with £150 of American Express cashback
Even better, this offer will stack with the current American Express cashback deal.
If targeted, you will receive £150 cashback when you spend £500+ on the Homes & Villas website by 30th November. You need to check the ‘Offers’ section of your American Express account to see if you are targeted and click ‘Save to Card’ to register – make sure you use this card when booking.
Marriott has recently reduced the minimum stay from three nights to two nights at the majority of its Homes & Villas properties, albeit a two night stay wouldn’t qualify for the ‘double points’ offer. It has also added a lot of low cost properties in places – one of the cheapest UK rentals at £60 per night in November is actually where my Mum lives, a brand new apartment in Filey on the Yorkshire Coast. I suddenly fancy a mattress run surprise family visit.
Some inspiration ….
Here’s a few Homes & Villas properties that we like the look of:
Puffin House, Whitby, UK
A five bedroom luxury property with chic interiors and 10 minutes walk from Whitby town centre available from £204 per night.
Logan Manor, Dalkeith, near Edinburgh, UK
This impressive manor house has 3.5 acres of private grounds and a luxury hot tub, albeit it costs from £1,147 per night – good for a multi-generational trip or a group of friends.
Plaka apartment, Athens, Greece
A 2 bedroom apartment with roof terrace and views of the Acropolis, from €300 pre night.
Burj Khalifa views apartment, Dubai, UAE
A luxury 3-bedroom apartment overlooking the Burj Khalifa and fountains, close to Dubai Mall from $942 per night – far cheaper than a comparable hotel suite.
You can find full details of the double base points and double elite nights offer on the Homes & Villas by Marriott International website here.
