Tesco Clubcard devaluing ‘Delivery Saver’ redemptions

Whilst our Tesco Clubcard coverage has dropped sharply since it stopped being an Avios partner, it does remain a partner with Virgin Flying Club (£2.50 of vouchers = 625 points) and Hotels.com (£10 of vouchers = £30 of credit).

Many HfP readers, however, moved to using their Clubcard points for ‘Delivery Saver’.

‘Delivery Saver’ lets you lock in inclusive delivery charges for your Tesco grocery orders in return for a monthly, six monthly or annual commitment. You can choose from ‘click and collect’, ‘off peak’ or ‘anytime’ packages as the website explains here.

Tesco Clubcard devaluing 'Delivery Saver' redemptions

Historically you have been able to use Clubcard vouchers for ‘Delivery Saver’ redemptions at 3x their face value. This was on a par with the best partner redemptions and was a genuine cash saving if you shopped with Tesco on a regular basis.

From 14th November, Clubcard vouchers can only be used for ‘Delivery Saver’ subscriptions at face value. This makes them exceptionally poor value compared to redeeming for partner redemption such as Virgin Points or Hotels.com credit.

If you had been tempted to use your existing vouchers for ‘Delivery Saver’, you need to jump in this week.
