Hilton Honors has just launched its new Spring promotion which is now open for registration.

The promotion is called ”Double Up & Explore’.

There are TWO ways to earn a bonus, and they work together.

You will earn DOUBLE Hilton Honors base points for every stay between 1st January and 30th April.

In addition, you will earn 1,000 bonus Hilton Honors points for every stay at a different Hilton brand.

There is NO ‘starting with your second stay’ rule.  You get double points from your first stay during the promotional period. You also earn the 1,000 points ‘brand bonus’ from your first stay.

For most brands, you will earn 10 base points per $1 spent, plus an additional 10 promotional points plus any status bonus.

Given that I value a Hilton Honors point at around 0.33p, you are getting a good return on your pre-tax spending here.  20 points per $1 is an 8% rebate and that is before you add in any status bonus. A Diamond would be getting 12% back.

You can add in a flat £3.33 of value per new brand from the 1,000 points ‘brand bonus’ too.

The offer is refreshingly free of small print

There is not much small print except that you need to register in advance via the Hilton website here

Apart from that, all is good:

  • There is no minimum stay requirement
  • Existing bookings still count
  • Reward bookings count – obviously if you don’t spend anything then double points are worthless but you WILL get the 1,000 points ‘new brand’ bonus
  • All Hilton Family properties (Hilton, Hampton, Curio, Waldorf-Astoria, Conrad etc) are taking part – there is no list of non-participating hotels

Remember that the Home2 Suites and Tru brands earn a lower 5 base points per $1.

Register for ‘Double Up & Explore’ now

Hilton’s new ‘double base points’ is a decent offer, especially for people doing longer, more expensive stays. Throwing in an extra 1,000 points per new brand is a novel twist on top, and means even ‘no cost’ reward stays should get you something. This is also a way of potentially given you a worthwhile bonus for a cheap one night stay.

You should make sure you register if you have any Hilton stays coming up in the first four months of next year.

Even without Hilton Honors status, you will be earning 20 points (which I value at 6.6p) per $1.  This is an 8% rebate on your spending.  Anyone with Hilton status will do even better.

Even if you don’t have any stays planned, it is still worth registering just in case – a lot can happen between now and 30th April.

If you’re lucky, American Express may launch another Hilton cashback offer which would double up with this and provide an even greater return.

You can sign up for ‘Double Up & Explore’ here.

How to earn Hilton Honors points and status from UK credit cards

How to earn Hilton Honors points and status from UK credit cards (April 2025)

There are various ways of earning Hilton Honors points from UK credit and debit cards.  Many cards also have generous sign-up bonuses.

There are two dedicated Hilton Honors debit cards. These are especially attractive when spending abroad due to the 0% or 0.5% FX fee, depending on card.

You also receive FREE Hilton Honors status for as long as you hold the debit cards – Gold status with the Plus card and Silver status with the basic card. This is a great reason to apply even if you rarely use it.

We reviewed the Hilton Honors Plus Debit Card here and the Hilton Honors Debit Card here.

You can apply for either card here.

Holders of The Platinum Card from American Express receive FREE Hilton Honors Gold status for as long as they hold the card.  It also comes with Marriott Bonvoy Gold, Radisson Rewards Premium and MeliaRewards Gold status.

We reviewed American Express Platinum in detail here and you can apply here.

  • Kowalski says:

    Another nice promotion from Hilton!

  • Ian says:

Have 4 brands in the first couple of weeks.

Or 5 if they consider Hampton Inn to be different to Hampton Inn and suites. But I doubt it. 😂

The current promotion is however brilliant and hopefully people have capitalised on it.

    • John says:

Hampton Inn (and Suites) only exists in the US, it’s Hampton by Hilton elsewhere

  • ianM says:

The current double days promotion is fantastic although the number of Diamonds next year will increase massively as a result.
Still my go to brand although Hilton reward nights are now significantly more expensive than IHG, points-wise

    • John says:

There are many diamonds from 2019 who will cease being diamond in March 2023 having not stayed in Hiltons for up to 3 years.

      • Robm says:

I fall into this bucket – I’d imagine the number of diamonds would drop quite a bit from March.

  • roberto says:

Should make the bill from our 10 days at Rangali Island a little more palatable in March.

  • BJ says:

Got Hilton, Curio and Tapestry (whatever that is, a first for me) coming up so 3,000 unexpected points, it all helps.

  • NFH says:

Thanks Rob. I have an existing Hilton reservation over New Year’s Eve, so this article is really helpful. I’ve read the FAQ, and I see that only the checkout date is relevant. So checking out on 2nd January 2023 qualifies, irrespective of when one checks in.

  • Reena says:

Hi Rob, I am short approx 10,000 Hilton points for a redemption for next March in Japan – would you suggest the best way be to transfer from Amex or to buy or is there a better way? Also, Is there an easy way to see how many points I would earn on a cash booking?

    • Rob says:

Buying at 0.41p is better – you’d only be getting 0.82p per Amex point if you transferred (1:2).

You can’t be sure what a stay will earn as its based on Hilton’s dodgy FX rate to $ on the day it posts.

You can do it roughly off the pre-taxes figure shown whilst booking.

  • Ryan says:

I’m going to be 9 nights/probably 60,000 pts short of renewing diamond by the end of the year. Although I have an email that states diamond until March ’24. I earned/was upgraded to diamond after Easter this year. I don’t understand what I’d get if I met diamond target this year?
