Hilton Honors has just launched its new Spring promotion which is now open for registration.

The promotion is called ”Double Up & Explore’.

There are TWO ways to earn a bonus, and they work together.

You will earn DOUBLE Hilton Honors base points for every stay between 1st January and 30th April.

In addition, you will earn 1,000 bonus Hilton Honors points for every stay at a different Hilton brand.

There is NO ‘starting with your second stay’ rule.  You get double points from your first stay during the promotional period. You also earn the 1,000 points ‘brand bonus’ from your first stay.

For most brands, you will earn 10 base points per $1 spent, plus an additional 10 promotional points plus any status bonus.

Given that I value a Hilton Honors point at around 0.33p, you are getting a good return on your pre-tax spending here.  20 points per $1 is an 8% rebate and that is before you add in any status bonus. A Diamond would be getting 12% back.

You can add in a flat £3.33 of value per new brand from the 1,000 points ‘brand bonus’ too.

The offer is refreshingly free of small print

There is not much small print except that you need to register in advance via the Hilton website here

Apart from that, all is good:

  • There is no minimum stay requirement
  • Existing bookings still count
  • Reward bookings count – obviously if you don’t spend anything then double points are worthless but you WILL get the 1,000 points ‘new brand’ bonus
  • All Hilton Family properties (Hilton, Hampton, Curio, Waldorf-Astoria, Conrad etc) are taking part – there is no list of non-participating hotels

Remember that the Home2 Suites and Tru brands earn a lower 5 base points per $1.

Register for ‘Double Up & Explore’ now

Hilton’s new ‘double base points’ is a decent offer, especially for people doing longer, more expensive stays. Throwing in an extra 1,000 points per new brand is a novel twist on top, and means even ‘no cost’ reward stays should get you something. This is also a way of potentially given you a worthwhile bonus for a cheap one night stay.

You should make sure you register if you have any Hilton stays coming up in the first four months of next year.

Even without Hilton Honors status, you will be earning 20 points (which I value at 6.6p) per $1.  This is an 8% rebate on your spending.  Anyone with Hilton status will do even better.

Even if you don’t have any stays planned, it is still worth registering just in case – a lot can happen between now and 30th April.

If you’re lucky, American Express may launch another Hilton cashback offer which would double up with this and provide an even greater return.

You can sign up for ‘Double Up & Explore’ here.

  • Crafty says:

Why is the lack of small print “refreshing”? I think you’ve been describing it as such for about 5 years!

  • BJ says:

F&B credit to replace free breakfast for Gold and Diamond elites worldwide at Motto. The rot may have started.

    • John says:

To be fair it’s basically one hotel where this newly applies. And Motto is like a hostel anyway. But doesn’t bode well.

      • BJ says:

I think they’re testing the water though. If so, it’s a poor choice of brand to experiment with.

        • Scott says:

Well, perhaps being a low key brand that most of us haven’t really heard of, or stayed at, it’s not going to cause too many issues.

Best to keep something fairly out of the spotlight than say “right, as of 1st Jan 23, we’re dropping breakfast at Hiltons and Hamptons” for example and then annoy 1000s of guests.
