Hilton has launched its winter sale for hotels in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

You can get up to 20% off participating properties when you book a stay between 21st December 2022 and 24th April 2023. You must book before 31st January 2023 and this discount is only available to Hilton Honors members. Non members can save up to 15%.

Some Winter Sale inspiration

After a busy Christmas and New Year, it could be a good time to take a break and make the most of the Hilton Winter Sale.

There are a couple of newly opened Hilton hotels in the Middle East that could provide some welcome winter sun.

Hilton Bahrain opened earlier this year and is included in the offer, as is the brand new Hilton Dubai Palm Jumeirah, with it’s private stretch of beach and impressive views.

Closer to home, Canopy by Hilton Paris Trocadero is just a Eurostar away and is getting good reviews. The rooftop bar and some of the suites have views over the Eiffel Tower, perfect for a romantic, if slightly clichéd, Valentine’s break.

  • you must book by 31st January 2023

There are various ways of earning Hilton Honors points from UK credit and debit cards.  Many cards also have generous sign-up bonuses.

There are two dedicated Hilton Honors debit cards. These are especially attractive when spending abroad due to the 0% or 0.5% FX fee, depending on card.

Holders of The Platinum Card from American Express receive FREE Hilton Honors Gold status for as long as they hold the card.  It also comes with Marriott Bonvoy Gold, Radisson Rewards Premium and MeliaRewards Gold status.

    Booking non-refundable hotel rooms unless its less than a couple of weeks needs to be put in the same category as booking flights with an ota.

    I noticed last time that the prices of the cancellable rates increased as soon as the sale started too, so I actually did less bookings during the sale lol.

    Plus if theres even a chance free breakfast is gonna be removed, you dont want to be stuck with non-cancellable hiltons!

      When booking a non-refundable flight you may as well book non-refundable accommodation to go with it.

        Not necessarily – BA would offer you a flight waiver this week for the strikes, for eg, but try getting your hotel to give you one.

          And you can always get gov taxes back even on non-refundable rates however small they might be whereas with the hotel it’s nothing at all.

    One that I am tracking is Munich Airport and the rates there have come down by around 15% (cheapest pre-paid rate vs the Hilton sale price). Appreciate a sample of 1 lacks much credibility, mind…

    It was only last night I was checking the rates for a 2 night stay in Tallinn during January. I checked again this afternoon and the rate has actually gone up and still it says it’s a Hilton Sale.
    I’m sure Hilton could do better at marketing the brand rather than this con of a so called Sale!

      Had the same in Dublin, the 20% discounted rate is more expensive than it has been for the past 3 months (granted rates do go up and down, however still a bit strange)

    Just looked for a trip to Porto in March. The price is 5 Euro a night more than when I looked last week.

    Once upon a time there used to be very good deals in the Hiltons Christmas sale. However, for the last few years it seems to be completely fake.

    If HfP is going to accept these type of promotions, they should include a table showing the best deals.

    Two points.

    1. I had a reservation for a family Chrimbo stay booked in Reading for next week. Saved 25% by cancelling and rebooking at the new sale rates so thanks.

    2. Trying to do #1 I found out that Hilton stopped accepting Hilton Gift cards last week! I’ve got approx £200 left on a couple and they were being declined. Various emails later, Incendia who manage the cards told me that I should have received comms from Hilton regarding their demise. Incendia are going to add me to the reimbursement list and hopefully I’ll get a refund at some point.

    I visited the new Hilton Palm Jumeirah for dinner, what with 2023 bookings in place there. Nice building and nice restaurants. But the pool area is devoid of any peace or privacy at all due to its large rectangular shape. Similarly the beach area requires walking across a public pathway and the West Beach area itself down the Hilton end is a tad lively. The noise was creeping up from Influencer Nirvana AKA Five Dubai Palm.

          Waldord RAK beats Waldorf Dubai and is a fraction of the price but of course its not that simple – unless you don’t intend to leave the hotel all holiday (which is totally possible of course). Not been to IC RAK but of course its better than any IC in DXB because IHG doesn’t have a Dubai beach property yet.

      Aye, stayed at this hotel in November. Great redemption, lovely exec lounge and I liked the pool despite it having a lack of privacy, but come the weekend the FIVE hotel next door ruined it. Loud bassy music all day. I would stay again, but only midweek
